This is what happens when conspriracy theory wingnuts become mainstream and have too large a platform.

In reality Alex Jones didn't lose his money due to lawsuits. He is no longer the only show in town.

I don't even think it's just conspiracy theory wingnuts (although they certainly are a problem), politicians have no fear these days of accusing others of deviant/criminal behavior because they face little to no consequences. I mean, if you or me were to say these types of things about our bosses, we would be canned on the spot.

Yeah politicians saying anything and getting away with it is sad. Started with the few that catered to the conspiracy theory stuff (IE...Trump) started it and others went with it since they knew they could get away with it.

All of this stuff is based off baseless conspiracies and politicians today just eat it up, knowing their constituents will fall for it.

Side note: Matt Walsh’s wife was bored. Gee there is a shocker.

I blame Newt. He told his party not to dispute any conspiracy theories/rumors even if they didn't outright promote them. It took a while for the circus to get going in all three tents, but he started it IMO. He's like the bearded lady. Plus I feel the bulk of modern partisanship started with him.

Sure, most everyone (normal) hates Newt, but I dont think he gets enough credit for fucking up the country as he should.

I think Newt picked up the torch from Ronald Reagan.

Four Oklahoma Officials Called To Resign After Racist Remarks Surface.

Just a snippet:

I’m gonna tell you something,” he started to tell Clardy, per the transcript. “If it was back in the day, when Alan Marshton would take a damn black guy and whoop their ass and throw him in the cell? I’d run for fu**king sheriff. Take them down to Mud Creek and hang them up with a damn rope. But you can’t do that anymore. They got more rights than we got.”

They won't resign, and nothing will come of it. Welcome to the USA.

I didnt want to say anything bad about Reagan because I knew you were friends in elementary school with him.

I don't remember embracing of conspiracy theories or the level of bipartisanship under Reagan, but I might have been too young. He was pretty awful though, in ways that still hurt today.
