in the years that I have had the basic understanding on politics whether Canadian or American I have always been Liberal and always will be. That being said I at one time respected the Conservatives in the past despite some of their views. This generation of Republicans and their followers are the most vile and despicable group I have seen in my time. Has it been like this since before Trump and Maga? What were these people like under previous Republican presidents? This is so discouraging.

Oh they existed but they didn't become mainstream as the prior Republican leaders hid it better. Whereas Trump doesn't care about anyone but himself on top of being one of the conspiracy theory wingnuts himself.
