Me too!!! This is super inconvenient as I was trying to make some last minute plans to attend a cheerleading competition.
Okay, kind of a series of good news/bad news situations today.

Did find a flight, but arrived in Arizona instead.

No cheerleader convention (my travel agent thought I said “Crochet Leaders” convention (she is the worst!) which it turns out is a thing), but this convention IS about 95% women.

Thankfully not in the 40-55 demo I mentioned before!! But that’s sadly because I am squarely in the 65-80 demo.

His house in Delaware. Brilliant. Either it kills his chance of re-election or false equivalency means that Trump will not be held accountable for the documents he took despite the obvious differences in the egregiousness of the offenses.

Just retire, Joe.

It is utterly ridiculous that this has happened. At least he didn't hide it and announced it himself. Seriously tho this is not good

The entire system of tracking documents seems to have some issues. Try going to public library checking a bunch of books and not returning them.

Probably get more hassle from library than NARA.

Its not, and I do not not want to say its not a big deal. but I would not be surprised if most sitting presidents have had some classified documents where they should have. Maybe I'm thinking less of them than I should, it just wouldnt surprise me.

I find the whole thing funny because all it does is give Trump supporters fuel for their fire. Seriously I am not surprised at all he had documents as it seems to go along with the territory. As @Comeds mentioned above I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't the case for all ex-Presidents and ex-VP's.

And in the case of Trump if he would have just owned up and did the right thing none of this would even be in the news right now.

Or he just thought it was normal shit because his predecessors all did the same thing apparently?

These are docs Biden took after he left his VP role in 2017. He doesn't get credit for owning up to this shit 6 years later just because some aides found some shit and got spooked after his predecessor had his house raided by the FBI for the same thing.

Would also like to know how this was brought up in October but we're only hearing about it now. Not like there was anything important happening in November that this could've impacted.

Should also note that former VP's only get 6 months of USSS protection after leaving office whereas former presidents get that shit in perpetuity. I'm sure Biden had some private security but him nor his home or offices were under federal protection after July 2017.

/I don't think the USSS was protecting any storage lockers though.

Not saying it is ok but honestly if he complied and have what others did it would be a nothing burger right now.

And by no means defending Biden on this one he followed protocols because if not the same crap would have happened to him as what it did to Trump.

Finally, you would be a fool to actually be shocked any politician in the US had sensitive documents in their possession. If someone actually did an investigation in to all of them we could essentially "start over" with the folks in office. Then the same thing would just happen again and again.

There's zero chance Trump having documents that he may not have been allowed to have wouldn't have become the circus it became even if he legit just came out and said "whoops, sorry". Not that he would ever do that or not do everything possible in public to make it so much worse for himself but there's just no shot. Anything Trump is ultimately the worst thing to ever happen to democracy and that will be the case until he dies or is a vegetable.

Oh, without a doubt.
The whole thing is nothing but political circus, Trump knows if he played the victim card it falls into line with the Republican way. And Biden knows if "follows protocol" (I put that in quotes because he knew all a long) it will look good to his base.
