He was also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle when it was determined he’d taken the car without the 71-year-old owner’s permission, officials said.

After his arrest, he spent four months on Rikers Island before he paid his $100,000 bail and was released, court records show.

The bail system naturally favors the wealthy and also seems to be unfairly applied to minorities. At least that's what studies showed a few years ago. Maybe no bail for violent crimes? I'd be OK with that, or most anything, as long as it was applied fairly. And was not a new system of for profit pre-trial jails.

The bigger question to me about the above case is why he was out after violating his parole.

The prosecutors are asking for life in prison with no chance of parole.

My opinion is they need to be gunned down in cold blood.
