There needs to be big companies that aren’t based in the US for that to happen.

When it comes to tech, AI, weapons etc. there is still the US and everybody else. In particular Europe is a black hole business-wise:

That is part of my point. Most of the large companies in the US will start to divest their businesses abroad because it will become too expensive to operate.

I thought this was a joke site until I found this article which noted:

Unjected, a dating app and the “largest unvaccinated platform” online, apparently left its entire website’s back end unsecured. Security researchers, working with Daily Dot reporters, reportedly accessed the site’s administrator dashboard, which had been left entirely unsecured and in de-bug mode. As a result, they got incredible access, including the ability to view and modify private account details, edit posts, and access backups without administrator authentication. The potentially-exposed personal information included the full name, birth date, marital status, and email address of 3,500 users, though it’s unclear whether anyone besides the researchers exploited the exposure. After being informed of the issues, the company took several days to fix the critical security vulnerability.
The Daily Dot contacted several Unjected users about the issue. The members of the unvaccinated dating community did not appreciate being so exposed and unprotected.

The irony. Lol.

I know we’re in an insane period in the world of commerce but I think a lot of incredibly bad things would still need to happen to ever reach that mark. US companies dominate so many sectors that do business globally and in many cases there just aren’t non-Chinese competitors out there to pick it up.

The three votes against a UN resolution denouncing Russia starting the war in Ukraine were Russia, North Korea, and the United States.

There's no getting around it... USA are the bad guy now.
Rest of the world is protecting itself, and working to make the US irrelevant.

Americans right now...

I didn’t watch the Liberal French debate yesterday but it’s pretty clear Carney doesn’t really have a good grasp of the language and Freeland isn’t much better.

The two main opposition parties that can win seats in Quebec are both headed by Francophones. The only way the Liberals can stave off a Conservative majority is by doing well in Quebec. If they run Carney or Freeland off the stage in a debate I’m not sure that’s going to play very well there.

Apparently Gould wasn’t awful though. Maybe she does have a shot if the media stops trying to force Carney down everyone’s throats.

It's pretty funny that the three major leaders or candidates to lead their parties were all born in Western Canada (Chrystia and PP in Alberta, Carney in the NWT). I feel that a lot of Quebecers will likely just hold their nose and vote for the candidate they feel to be the least offensive. You are right though, Quebec will play a major role in who wins the next election. (the Maritimes also).
