Interesting that Mr. Wonderful (O'Leary) is listed height wise to be 1.77 meters or 5 feet 8 inches tall. Looking at the pic above, there's no way in hell that Trump is 6'3" tall.

You know when Canada becomes the 51st state you gotta stop using the metric system :D

Well, that's one way to get people to watch anything involving Mark Carney lol - That guy is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
I know Canada’s been in the news a bit but just picturing one week from Trump’s inauguration the writing team being like “let’s bring in the former head of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, I’m sure our audience will love that”. Not buying it lol

Just my opinion, but it's a damn shame that Justin didn't pull the chute about a year ago because then we could have seen a young, energetic guy like Sean Fraser entering the Liberal leadership race. Instead, he got frustrated with all that crap that was happening and looks to be leaving politics.

There was no chance the guy in charge of immigration was going to reverse the fortunes of the party. That’s the one file even Trudeau and the wedding party have admitted they botched and at gave Trump an opening to start shitting on us. He knew he was about to be the fall guy and got the hell out which was pretty smart IMO considering what Trudeau did to Freeland.

He has a much better chance at a future in politics by disappearing for a few years, networking with the RoBelUs/Loblaws types then showing back up and being the latest “change” candidate the Liberals dig up after the upcoming decade of Conservative government.

Yeah, I think you're right, the Liberals are going to get thrashed and who wants to be "that person", come back for the next election without having that stain on your record.

It’s why I’m entirely confused by why Carney is even bothering right now.

That they’re gonna get beaten pretty badly is an understatement. It’s also probably better than 50% that they don’t form the official opposition either so assuming whoever wins this leadership race sticks around for the next session there’s almost no opportunity available to build your case by critiquing the government. And you’ll also still be strangled by attachment to Trudeau.

You just have to be betting that the electorate very quickly becomes disgusted with Polievre and you can get back in there, which isn’t impossible (see U.K. right now with Starmer, although the right wing there is going through their 90s Canadian politics moment) but you typically only get one shot as leader.

It’s been a year of this shit. Blocked roads, train stations, vandalizing Jewish businesses and places of worship, harassment.

At no point does the government decide to escalate this?

I guess it's a good thing they didn't try to spell Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
