I keep seeing this and I kind of get it. I myself am torn between simply not participating in the economy beyond basic needs for a while, but I also know I have some things will need to be replaced in the next few years and they will be prohibitively more expensive shortly. That 15 year old TV in the bedroom? Yeah, I probably should go ahead and replace that rather than wait for it to die off. Have two cars over 200k miles. Oh please just last.
I've gone a bit nuts this weekend.
new skates, off to get new sticks this afternoon.
snowblower coming this week, a bunch of clothes, dog stuff, etc.
beer, scotch, rum, wine
My back is getting tired of the shovel.Joe Sakic does not like this.
My back is getting tired of the shovel.
My yard is 60*130, with sidewalks on both front and side.
Plus a bunch of interior walkways.
I'll try to keep my fingers where they belong.
And flying all over the place. Yeah, the economy sucks...
So spend like a drunken sailor while crying poor me...I keep seeing this and I kind of get it. Just because people are spending now doesn't necessarily mean they don't have concerns about the current state. They just have understanding it's about to get much, much, much worse.
I think it was Abercrombie and Fitch who gave consumers a choice a few years ago.![]()
I would also be willing to pay more for American products, but most American made products I have purchased have been shit.
First 8 years of my marriage, I owned 5 different cars, all American. In the 22 years since, I have owned 3. All German. Have had 2 GE washer/dryer pairs and replaced parts regularly. Have had no problems with the Samsungs I have now. Ditto the LG stuff in my Kitchen that replaced Kenmore. Or the LG TV that replaced the RCA that just turned off one day and wouldn't turn back on. I happily buy the best products. And other than Dell PCs, that is almost exclusively imported goods.
I think people call that something like "letting the free market decide"
