to play devil's advocate, after McCarthy gave up play calling Rodgers hasn't played as well in most years (2016 was fantastic) and really hasn't been elite and the first year without McCarthy as HC has probably been one of his worst...
This is true, but Rodgers has taken more of a back seat this year and played within the new coaches scheme. It was personal between Rodgers and McCarthy, and considering Rodgers can't get along with his own family, I'd be willing to give McCarthy a shot here. Dak may not be ARod on the field, but ARod sure as Hell isn't Dak off it
There is no denying that Rodger's play has not been stellar this season but I think it is more a case of diminishing skills than anything to do with the head coach.
He is trying to convince Jerry that he can get this team to the Super Bowl...
