I saw that. Have to say, at the beginning of the season I would not have considered it a good idea to bring Garrett back. Today, I think it's a great idea. This team plays hard for him, and I love the direction they are going.

Now if we can bring Marinelli and give him some ammunition on defense, this will be a dangerous team next year.

I believe McClay was the man behind the Hitchens pick. I like the thought of what he could do with another draft geared towards the defense.

Coach Rod has reached a deal with the Cowboys as well

The Cowboys will reportedly be able to retain defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The two sides have reportedly reached an agreement on a new contract for Marinelli to remain the defensive coordinator.

Initial reports indicated Marinelli was set to join Lovie Smith in Tampa Bay as his defensive coordinator. The two worked together in Chicago for three years.

Marinelli coached Dallas to the 19th best unit in the league this season, giving up the eighth fewest rushing yards per game at 103.1 and 251.9 passing yards.

From where this team was with the cap a few years ago, making quality decisions on the cap, sticking with JG when most wanted his head, bringing on Rod and Scott, keeping Callahan, bringing in McClay, keeping Jason and Rod today...he's done an outstanding job the last few years

Scott Linehan is sticking around as well. He has agreed to a new contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

This is great news for Dallas! Linehan has a consistent track record of having one of the best ball control offenses in football, being in the top 5 in time of possession for the past several years. that trend continued this year for Dallas, and looks to continue going into the future.
