Bud has said he wouldn't leave for a dead end HC job. He wants a chance to succeed

Hasn't Bud has also stated in the past that he would only entertain a HC job at a BCS school?

I have also been hearing rumors about Torrian Gray being contacted about some DC jobs. That worries me more than the Foster-UConn talk.

He did say that in the past. However, his professional clock is ticking.

If he leaves I hope Frank promotes Torrian immediately.

"James Madison: Keep an eye on Virginia Tech running backs coach Shane Beamer. A source tells me JMU is very high on Beamer, though several coaches are expected to interview within the next 10-12 days."

Noooooo....take Stiney instead.

I don't think I would mind this, actually. I'd miss his recruiting, but not necessarily his coaching, and I think we'd still be ok recruiting without him at this point... that has picked up lately and a lot of it hasn't been Shane. Cornell and Moorehead can hold down the "I'm young and have energy / can relate" bit. He can get some HC experience before being a VT HC candidate. And he's not going to badmouth VT to recruits. VT can find someone who was actually a RB to coach the RBs.

Wouldn't mind either of these guys. Because of ties to the area..I would predict Lee Suggs. But wasn't KJ interested in a GA position in the last couple years???

Either of those guys would make great RB coaches...though I don't want Shane to go.

The Al Groh coaching tree continues to bear fruit. Another former Groh assistant gets a D1 head coach job.

I'd be fine with Jones or Suggs too. I'd rather have the one who has a better personality and who ever would be the more effective recruiter. Ability to recruit is becoming just as important as coaching abilities
