Poor guy can’t get out of his own head making bad decisions one after another. He should have hung out and waited for a better spot. Now he’s tied to the success or failure of Kyler Murray. Too risky for me. I would have taken one more run at DC for head coach money and projected where Caleb Williams goes in the off season. High likelihood the number 1 pick is looking for a new head coach. Not even Eagles want to be Eagles.
Bad decisions? I can understand the "why would you take the Cardinal job" argument, but has this guy stacked multiple bad decisions? If so, I have heard nothing about it.Poor guy can’t get out of his own head making bad decisions one after another. He should have hung out and waited for a better spot. I’m referring to the game he called in the Super Bowl where the Chiefs scored on every 2nd half possession.Bad decisions? I can understand the "why would you take the Cardinal job" argument, but has this guy stacked multiple bad decisions? If so, I have heard nothing about it.
Well, they did have one of the best defenses all year. Does Gannon get credit for that? In reality, the Eagles ended the year 3-3. They beat the Giants twice (once with their backups and the Niners without a QB. They had a cakewalk to the SB and weren't really tested until they played an elite team and ultimately lost.I’m referring to the game he called in the Super Bowl where the Chiefs scored on every 2nd half possession.
He was pissed they undermined him and brought in fangioI’m referring to the game he called in the Super Bowl where the Chiefs scored on every 2nd half possession.
Yes, it’s his job to put Reddick in a position to succeed. In reality, they finished the season at 14-1 with their franchise QB playing games. In reality, Gannon’s defense over 2 years gave up 33 PPG to top 10 passers.Well, they did have one of the best defenses all year. Does Gannon get credit for that? There is a reason the Eagles offered Gannon a ton of money to stay. And if you ask most Eagles fans, they are the best-run team in the league. So, you would think their attempt to keep Gannon was the right move.
At some point, you have to blame the players as well. Is it Gannon's fault Reddick had 1 tackle the entire game? Or is it his fault Hurts had a crucial blunder that led to a scoop and score? Is it Gannon's fault The Eagles only had 3 points in the second half up until about 5 minutes remaining in the game? Gannon may turn out to be a complete failure which wouldn't surprise me considering we are talking about the Cardinals, but to blame the SB loss on him is crazy.
What are you talking about? Fangio was with them all season as a consultant. He was pissed they undermined him and brought in fangio
That’s not what I heardWhat are you talking about? Fangio was with them all season as a consultant.
News broke in October that he had been consulting with them all season. That’s not what I heard
Reddick was out of position the entire game... That's funny.Yes, it’s his job to put Reddick in a position to succeed. In reality, they finished the season at 14-1 with their franchise QB playing games. In reality, Gannon’s defense over 2 years gave up 33 PPG to top 10 passers.
Yes, it is Gannon’s fault the Eagles only scored 11 points in the second half as the Eagles scored on 2 of 3 2nd half possessions because Gannon’s defense couldn’t get off the field. Gannon doesn’t come back because the Eagles have 7 FAs on the defense and won’t be resigning them all. He didn’t bet on his ability to teach and coach a new group into success. He took a bad situation because it was the first one to offer him a head coaching position. He almost did the same thing last year with the Texans when they almost offered him.
It takes a team to win and a team to lose. That being said, there is no player or coach in the Eagles organization more responsible for the loss than Jonathan Gannon.
Continuity. With all due respect, how the Fuck do you know what Reddick’s alignment and assignment is supposed to be on every play for you to declare he was out of position Bwahahaha!Reddick was out of position the entire game... That's funny.
So if win-loss record only counts when your starting QB plays shouldn't that be the same for the other team when their starting QB plays? that 14-1 record you pointed out would look different if that was the case. You can't pick and choose.
Top 10 passers are the best of the best. They put up points against even the best defenses.
Gannon left because of 7 free agents? When I brought that up in the past, every Eagles fan was confident they had all those positions covered and they would be fine. That was when Gannon was assumed to continue to be the DC.
It does take a team to lose and Gannon deserves some of the blame, but not the majority. You are playing the best QB, HC combo in the league.
Serious question - Why did one of the best-run organizations in the league offer Gannon a huge raise to stay with the team?
That's one of the main reasons I live here.Gannon took less money to be a HC rather than stay in Philly.
Doubt it was the weather that swayed him.
You said it was Gannon's fault Reddick only had one tackle because Gannon didn't put him in a position to succeed. You literally blamed Gannon for Reddicks poor play. I was simply reiterating your point in jest.Continuity. Like most of these guys with aspirations of being a head coach, he jumped on the first chance to do so.Gannon took less money to be a HC rather than stay in Philly.

“Put someone in a position to succeed” is coach speak for formulating a game plan that puts players in position to make plays. Additionally, neither team did anything with their pass rush despite being like 1 and 2 in pass rush stats all season because of the poor field conditions. My issue was Gannon had zero adjustments when it was evident he was getting no pressure with 4.You said it was Gannon's fault Reddick only had one tackle because Gannon didn't put him in a position to succeed. You literally blamed Gannon for Reddicks poor play. I was simply reiterating your point in jest.
Oh and then they had to sign him to a two week contract for the sb?News broke in October that he had been consulting with them all season.
