Saw this.. the Twitter jokes certainly aren't going to go away overnight haha. He's gonna hear lots of chirping about this for next season.

Honestly, not too worried about this. We all get drunk and make stupid decisions every now and then. He probably thought it was funny to mess around with a cop while drunk and the cop wasn't having it. Doesn't strike me like a big deal. A little immature for a 26 year old? Maybe. But he's a young dude with lots of money and it was a Canadian holiday. Shit happens haha

If Giroux wasn't Captain, I wouldn't think much of it. However, being a leader means setting a better example. Embarrassing. As a typical worker in my department, nothing would be said. However, as Director now I'd be worried about my job. That's the responsibility that comes with the position. G was obviously too young and immature for the responsibility he was given. On the heels of the whole questionable golfing incident last summer, I'm now very concerned. Needs to get his head out of his ass. Period.

agree now, and didn't like it at the time. this new age 'he's the youngest and best on our team, give him the captaincy' thing is garbage. should've been timonen without hesitation IMO.

I wouldn't make a big deal about, Patrick Kane was caught up in a few drunken incidents and he turned out fine. Main thing is that he wasn't driving IMO. Drunken horseplay is excusable, but drunk driving is a big no no

I agree, it probably won't be a big deal going forward but I just don't like it - these players need to make smarter decisions

I laughed at it he's young shit happens. Had a friend who was told to spill out his beer so he chugged it down. Cop nailed him had to go to court etc...but now he's a senior member for corrections haha!

Crosby doesn't have to worry I don't think he can handle more than one beer plus he hangs out with 15 year old girls at Bieber concerts...oh wait!

Valid point, as a captain he should be held to higher standards. Still tho, what is one to do, I doubt if they're going to strip him of the "C" or trade him. Then again, that is what happened to Mike Richards
