It's unbelievable. Two days into OTA's and we lose our best lineman. Such a load of shit.

Huge loss. Best in the league at his position and we're without him now. This sucks.

Yeah that hurts. I`d be watching the waiver wire real close when roster cuts come. Be looking at Dallas for one.

Fuck. This puts a damper on the season, and it's not even summer yet. This is a huge blow to the O-line which already had a lot of question marks. Guys are going to have to step up in a big way.

Broncos have already picked up former bronco Ryan Harris.

Best way to look at it. Certainly hurts to lose Clady, but that is part of football.

Good news is we have a lot of OL coming to camp.

Big question, of course, is whether any of them can play LT.

Kubiak and Dennison now face another question, when questions already abounded.

I def don`t think it`s the end of the world like some. It`s better it happened now then in Sept. At least they have more time to figure out who will fit where and also it gives them more time and opportunity to pick up a quality player. If it happened later like Sept, the pickings would be alot slimmer. If Clark can play like he did when Clady went down first time, they`ll be fine. He actually graded out better than Clady that yr. If they can stay away from anymore hits on the O-line, that would be nice in the mean time:)

Bingo! I'm trying like hell to look at the silver lining and although it sucks that it was the first day of OTA's, the Broncos are certainly going to have enough time to develop a plan to move forward without Clady. So, we've already lost our new rookie tight end and now our All Pro left tackle. Totally sucks but that's football.

Not sure if this should be a thread on its own or not.

With this being the third major injury to Clady in the 8 years with the team I got to wonder about his future. According to Sportrac his 2015 salary has been fully guaranteed and his 2016 and 2017 base pays will be 9,500,000 and 10,000,000, respectively. His cap hit in 2016 is 10,100,000 and deap money 1,200,000. For 2017 it is 10,600,000 and 600,000.

At what point do we move on from Clady or ask for a pay cut? When he is healthy he is one of the best and I think he will excel when he gets back into the ZBS but will he be worth such large amounts for 2016 and 2017?

What are everyone's thoughts? Restructure, cut, keep as is.

I really like Clady but I think I would have to look for a pay cut here. We are going to have a lot of talent that needs signing or replacing in the next couple of years and the extra cash might be worth it.

Seems a bit early to tell, though I imagine Elway has already begun thinking about it. I think much depends on how well Sambrailo plays (pretty sure some project him as a LT), how well Clady recovers, and what alternatives are available in free agency and the draft.

Clady's situation is not totally different than Mayo's for the Pats. Mayo has been one of the very best but 2 years of injuries.... He restructured and will make it or break it this year......
I say ask him to restructure.....

I don`t think Denver will "ask" him to restructure. If he wants to stay a Bronco, he`ll have to. I`am sure both sides know this now.

Hate to hear it guys, I've followed Clady for a long time. Hope the recovery is speedy and complete.

Well this one is never easy to hear. I will say though he was never fully healthy last year. That darn lis franc injury seems to be that one that modern medicine hasn't been able to beat yet. Clady actually even though he made the Pro Bowl had a pretty average season. In fact out of 32 starting LT's Clady finished 21st. I was really hoping though another year from the injury that this would be the year he came back full strength.

Anyway here is my guess now of the OL...

LT--Ty Sambrailo. I guess we are going to get an earlier look at this kid than we thought for the LT spot. I figured the Broncos planned on moving him here eventually but probably not for another year or two. Anyway if he has a pretty good year I could see that being the sign to the team to let Clady walk. We shall see though.
LG--Shelley Smith. I know this is the name not many want to see. He had a terrible last year in Miami. Before that though when he was in St. Louis he played as one of the top-10 LG's in the league. If healthy and back in the scheme that fits him well I could see him having a bit of a bounce back year. Has to stay healthy though.

C--Gradkowski. Again another name that doesn't bring about a lot of confidence. The Broncos traded for him for a reason though. Obviously Kubiak liked something he saw.

RG--Vasquez. Please stay healthy Vasquez as I can't see us losing our top-2 OL players and having a successful season. We survived a year without Clady so I still have hope but yeah Vasquez goes down and I might be calling to see Osweiler just to see if he is our future.

RT--Ryan Harris. Over the 2nd half of last season with the Chiefs he finished with a +5.2 grade on PFF. He started out the year really struggling with the Chiefs but actually ended up being one of their better OL players by the end of the season. He is now back with Kubiak where he found some of his best success while in the league.

I agree with you on Harris, but I hope that Smith and Gradkowski don't play much because they are horrible.
