The Mets called up left-hander Ryan O'Rourke from Triple-A Syracuse to replace Familia, 29, in the bullpen.

Familia has been one of the Mets' biggest flops this season. The right-hander is 2-0 with a 6.28 ERA in 14 appearances after signing a $30 million, three-year contract in December to rejoin the Mets as a free agent.

Working in a setup role, the former All-Star closer has walked 13 batters in 14⅓ innings.

They'll now try to get a split of the 4 game series on Thursday afternoon before they head back out on the road.

Mets' RHP Noah Syndergaard (1-3, 6.45) tries to get on track for New York in the noon matinee. Thor lost his last two outings and hasn't gone more than five innings in any of his past three, giving up 14 earned runs and 27 hits over 15 innings during that span.
But he's 4-0 with a 2.67 ERA in five career starts vs. Cincinnati.

He opposes Reds' RHP Tyler Mahle (0-3, 4.50 ERA) who has lost three straight starts.
