What shocks me is how does he get released and Alex Collins continues to be on the squad? With Rawls back and Prosise emerging there wasn't much room, but my vote would be for Collins; he hasn't shown any value.

Yup. Sounds like it. He really tapered off in the last few weeks. Not sure how much of that has to do with the injury.

I have to imagine he's still having some problems we aren't aware of.

Yeah. There's got to be more to this than poor performance. Rawls must be 100% ready and they must see more upside in Collins than Michael to do this now. I'm confident that Prosise can hold the fort if Rawls isn't ready for a full workload yet, but the fact that they kept Collins over Michael must mean that either Collins has shown the coaches a bigger upside than Michael or Michael is getting back to old habits.

I don't agree with the move unless there was something (attitude?) going on behind the scenes. Then again, I've won zero super bowls, and have a 0-0 playoff record so I'll just stick to my day job.

Thank GOD its like the Seattle seahawks management has been reading my comments here on SportsHoopla this can only further prove my genius. Before the season started I said this guy was overrated not a consistent back. released by the cowboys and redskins he was not destined to be anything more than an average back.

Collins sucks too

but in seriousness im guessing Rawls will be ready to go against the eagles so when you have a power back like Rawls and a receiving back like Prosise where does that leave Michaels. He wasnt all that effective and doesnt have much trade value. I think the team if anything wants to see a little more of collins if he has to take the field

I guess this shouldn't have come as a surprise. I was just looking through Michael's game logs for this season and his best game came almost two months ago against the 49ers. He had a handful of touchdowns in the six games since, but he hasn't been able to consistently move the sticks or put the Seahawks offense in good down-and-distance situations on first or second down. Scoring touchdowns is obviously good, but it can't be the only thing you do as a running back. Hopefully the combo of Rawls and Prosise will keep the offense and the team as a whole more balanced.

True... That and the fact that he keeps tripping over his own feet when running the ball on a regular basis...

CMike wasn't a super star for sure but I thought he held up ok overall considering what was going on around him with a struggling line and hobbled QB who's been 30% of the running game when healthy. He was clearly our most effective back up until the emergence of a healthy Prosise. All said and done, he averaged 4 ypc this year. That is respectable, especially the way this whole offense was slipping gears earlier.

They must be REALLY confident Rawls is back to stay. If he is, that's a good 1-2 with him and CJ.

I would have been fine with C Mike being our 3rd down back and moving Collins to the practice squad.

The FO knows a ton more than I do, but Collins has looked absolutely worthless the couple times he's played.
