those arent picked stats. theyre hard metrics.

do you know hos trends work in statistics/data sets?

They're cherry picked from his season.

Yes, I know how trends work. Don't you remember me, I'm the one that laughs at you every year when you start these threads about Sale, stroking your dick til it smokes.

Which is stupid. Its the MLB version of a participation trophy. I grew up watching some really really bad baseball and there were times the Indians probably shouldn't have had anyone on the all-star team. So, we got Doug Jones
Ken Harvey for the 04 Royals is the worst I can think of

if sale doesnt allow more than a run in his next start, and goes 7, his ERA is now under 3.00.

so, its not cherry picking. that would be sale on tuesdays in night games in temps over 60. this is an overall trend in his statistical performance.

Are you crazy? He's the peoples' choice! Plus he has a great relationship with the Commissioner's Office

Hey I’m with the people!

Unfortunately tho, when your FIP is closer to Michael Pineda than Chris Sale.

The people tend to get overridden

This game looks like fun!

If Sale gives up seven in his next start and only goes three, his ERA is now over 4.00.

When you're talking about All-Star selection, and you're ignoring 35% of a dude's starts, you're cherry picking, you cherry picking SOB!

Another bad one? Mark Redman 2006

finishing the season with a 5.71 ERA in 29 starts. He had a 5.27 ERA and as many walks as strikeouts before the break

Sale's FIP and xFIP are under 3.

The way things have started out will naturally lead people to do some digging to see if that was a hiccup, Sale adjusting thereafter, an injury, or whatever.

Yup some run support and a closer and he would have more wins for sure.
A shame but it happens to others as well.

this is guessing/hoping vs relying on data. relying on his trending data, i fully expect his recent performance to continue. he hit 98 last night a bunch. and his slider is biting. nothing in his metrics would cause me to expect anything else.
so his ERA will be around or under 3 after his next start. save this for later discussion.

i cannot find a single metric to say this is an aberration.

Given how you've historically fared on the Chris Sale threads you start, the bold is fucking hysterical.
