Yes for that one game. In that one game FL was much better than tOSU. However throughout the season, not they were not.
Then why was Florida declared champions by every poll?

Because they were the BCS champs. I know its confusing for a GA, knowing what a champion is, but thats what happens when you win the BCS NC game. That does not mean the rankings up to that game were wrong. Then why was Florida declared champions by every poll?

So a "true" #1 leading into the game would not lose? Hmmm that's interesting. Let me know when Ga has a chance to test that theory.Clearly they were, you know, because a true number 1 team wouldn't get curb stomped in the NCG, and a true number 2 wouldn't get blown out in the Rose Bowl.
Huh? So a coach made a decision for momentum? Thats unpossible.Yeah, but had the played in the season...OSU might not have even been in the title game.
What I remember about that game, really tells the whole story.
4th and 3 inside his own 40 yard line in the 1st quarter and Tressel went for it on 4th down.
(They were down 14-0). Tressel in the first 10 minutes had already determined that they
were in way over their heads. Either they hadn't prepared properly for UF. They underestimated
them and left things out of their preparation, or UF was far the superior team.
Tressel knew if he punted, they would march right on down the field and score. He knew he needed
some momentum or he was fixin' to get run out of there. They didn't make it and the
rout was on.

tOSU got whooped on by VT and still proved they were good enough to be NC. You still have not proven your rankings claim. They can lose a close game and leave room for doubt. Last year was a prime example. You lose 41-14 and you didn't belong in the game.
Sure they did they were #1 until after that game. Now GA didn't belong you see since they didn't play.More like desperation because he knew his team didn't belong on the same field as Florida in 2006.

You let me know when you prove your point that tOSU should not have been #1 going into that game...41-14 is proof enough for anyone not blinded by OSU homerism.
As soon as the NCG kicked off tOSU was up 7-0. Then Ginn got hurt. So still waiting...And clearly we saw they were no where near the number 1 team as soon as the NCG kicked off.

So the rankings were right. They were #1 before the game and not after. Thank you for agreeing finally.Because it was clear that they were no where near the best team after the game.

But you said this:
And that has also been proven wrong.
