  • You fire a probable HOF coach, if you keep him around long term.
  • You see your aging, but still effective complimentary running back, go elsewhere.
  • You lose important pieces on defense,
  • And key WR corp guys.
  • You blame all the failures of the team on the QB.
Put back just half of that into the equation and we probably see Keap's career trending somewhere just under a Wilson's or a Newton's.

Yeah man interesting stuff. Hope they release him and he comes to the good side and sticks it to them 49er beeyatches. Gonna be interesting to see that Chip Kelly offense vs Rams defense. Someone might get killed.

From your article SJ....

How much of Kaepernick's slide can be attributed to a sea change in coaching and surrounding talent versus his own regression as NFL defenses adjusted to the read-option trend?

That's the real question, and I think I stated clear enough where I stand.

For me, I never liked the guy, partly because of his competitiveness, but mostly because he was a Filthy Niner!

Now that he dislikes them Whiners as much as I do, well let's just say, the mutual feelings have put him in a much better light.

Brother has been a lifelong 9er fan, he never liked Kap even when he was playing better, thought he was overrated then? Just a perspective from a lifelong fan that knows his team?

Me I would be willing to give him a chance, the guy has a rifle, how accurate that rifle is is questionable? Also has some speed, take a chance, if he still sucks, we are no worse off than we are? Just set back another year maybe, but we are use to that, aren't we?

No, play Mannion so we can see what last years 3rd round pick was worth. The Rams can't go on without seeing what they already have. We know what Case is, Limited, we know what Foles is, less than Limited, we know what RGIII is, what Kap is, what Fritz is, but we don't really know what Mannion is. In fact if we draft another QB, it makes it worse. I have in the most part stated since the draft talk started, I wanted #15 to be QB, well trash that. Unless Mannion is already a known joke (only Fisher or Snead would know that because we never saw him) and should be released, he MUST PLAY to go forward. The SIN of last season is that when the Rams were not going to make the playoffs, Mannion wasn't out there from time to time to see what he could do. Now we go into a draft thinking about another QB or FA QB and Mannion sits there spinning. Screw Kap, RGIII, Fritz, Foles, drafting another QB, play what we have for now and then turn the page.

Come on, we don't do that, season was lost but we continued to play Clemens, season was lost, but we continued to play Hill, why would you want to see a younger guy that has never been given a chance, it's what we "don't" do!

I usually agree with you Blue, but not this time.

If Mannion is not ready, it makes no sense to throw him to the wolves and destroy his career before he ever gets going. Brock sat behind Manning for 3 years, right? I would think if he was competing with Foles and Kneenum we would have seen him out there, but TBT he is not ready Blue.

I don't think Mannion was ready last year.

I still think somewhere in the brain of Foles is a QB who wants to play and play well. Call it a fools gold belief, it makes little sense to me that the Rams signed this guy to an extension without seeing him play a down of football and then threw him under the bus for what? Keenum. It just doesn't add up.

But now Vita were looking to add a new QB? Or a retread? If Mannion is not ready NOW after a year of throwing for the opposition in practice to even be a backup, then haven't they had a chance to evaluate what future he has? Why would the Rams even think about another QB in this draft? If they are thinking the retread approach RGIII, Kap, Fritz, doesn't that stun the future of last years 3rd rounder even more? Look, maybe there is NO thought by Fisher or Snead at getting another QB this year, going with Case and Foles and Mannion, I'm good with that. I'm just not sure that is where they are.

I'm hoping we can move either Foles or Kneenum and bring in a guy like Kaep on a two year prove it deal. If he returns to form than we sign Mannion to an extended contract as our backup in case Kaep goes down. All other QB except maybe RG2.5 would be a stop gap until Sean is ready in year 3.

I don't want the Rams to draft an early round QB, someone they can develop and stash on the PS from the later rounds that shows promise would be great!

I agree Vita and I know the results after watching 3 years can help a QB (Rodgers) all I'm saying is don't get someone else if that stuns his (Mannion) growth for the future. Foles deal is a head scratcher but like retro said, they saw something. I just want the Rams to win through the QB once in a while.

Supposedly the Niners are asking the Broncos for a 2nd rounder in trade for Kaep.

Would you guys be ok with giving up one of our 2nd for him???

Really it's almost a 3rd rounder if Broncos are selecting last in every round.

I'd be comfortable giving up our 2nd, and getting Kaep and a 4th.

Or just give up a 3rd this year and a 3rd next year if he does really good.

Really need to move a QB before they add another. Can we get Foles into the deal? Or send him elsewhere? Maybe the Jets, who don't want to pay Fitz?
