Incredibly this is the third straight week the Broncos have a golden opportunity on their hands. Both the Raiders and Chargers have tough games today, just when they appeared to get their feat back underneath them. And a win over the Chiefs drops them to 5-3 while the Broncos move to 4-3.

Will the team continue to allow opportunities slip through their grasp? Sadly I believe they will. There was a lot of reason to be optimistic going into this season but it just hasn’t materialized. Disappointing, yes but the truth is a lot here saw something like this coming too and a lot of the media types dismissed the Broncos as a .500 team or thereabouts. A win over the Chiefs would certainly breathe new life into this season but I don’t see it happening. Instead I see the start of a transitional year where hopefully we can get some QB questions answered. Build on this year and come back better in 2018.

Doesn’t mean I’m going to keep hoping for the best now though!

Yup. Part of the frustration right now is that the Broncos could be in a great position if they could have managed to field a decent Offense. It looked early on like they were going to do that but they have fallen to shit. I liked what they were doing last week when they started rolling Siemian out a little. It looked like McCoy was forcing Siemian to think and react faster by cutting down options and putting him on the move. But I don't know how well it would work to limit the Offense like that, and if it's going to be limited like that then they might as well just stick Lynch in there instead because he is the physically better option. And if they were to do that then it would be time to let Oz go and have Siemian back Lynch up, because Goofy Giraffe can't scramble or throw well on the run consistently enough to even take the field. I wouldn't mind McCoy putting in some more rollouts for Siemian though. Pressure is killing him (inside and outside) and we can't pass pro.
