The last time the Cubs won the WS, Jamie Moyer and Julio Franco were still in the minors.
Maybe. There is a lot of "interest" I feel in this game, even from those who don't follow the sport as closely. The whole human interest side of the equation. Will this be the highest rated WS ever? I have no idea about previous WS ratings.
"I don't think this pitcher is the best.Just saying that even when Kyle was clearly the #3 pitcher on this roster, people kept calling him the 5. Even if Javy got to that first ball and Kyle threw a no hitter til the 7th, people still dont trust him. Are they really going to be behind him for a game 7? Will he get passed over for Arrieta on short rest or just be asked to throw 3 innings game 7 then give it to Jake for the W?

I think Cubs-Indians was probably the 2nd best possible result for MLB of the teams that made the postseason. Obviously Cubs-Red Sox would've been best but I think MLB is probably still pretty pleasedMaybe?
Indians are probably a ratings drag but the Cubs are probably enough of a ratings gainer that they could be playing literally anyone and still have it win top ratings all time. Something like Cubs vs Yankees would've been nutty, though.
Not sure I'd want Kyle pitching game 2. He's been so much better at home. No point in bringing him back early to pitch somewhere where he's been less successful this year. Personally I go Lackey Game 2, Kyle Game 3 and Jake Game 4Will they let Hendricks pitch Game2 on Wednesday on three days rest?
I say Yes, and they keep the regular playoff rotation of Lester, Hendricks, Arrieta, Lackey.

I think the novelty is worth a lot though. The 2 teams with the longest droughts facing off is a really good storyline. Not sure how you play up a Texas/Toronto/Baltimore story from those teams perspective. Either way the Cubs are clearly the drawUntil recently this is what things looked like:
Indians have to be the worst team out of the AL, right? Its literally Cleveland vs the World
but Cleveland will always have Johnny Football in their hearts.
Toronto would've been a great villain team and the Rangers would have the whole Buffalo Bills of baseball label to lose. O's...East coast familiarity probably means more ratings.I think the novelty is worth a lot though. The 2 teams with the longest droughts facing off is a really good storyline.
