Hahaha. Yeah, it's been zany how the Red Sox, Blue Jays and Cubs all had their bats go cold during their respective series with the Indians. Crazy "circumstances," I guess..

Conversely, the series could have also been a lot different if the Indians #2 and #3 starters were healthy.

I expected the Sox to hit Bauer and Tomlin better.

I expected Kluber to do something similar to what he did.

But I also didn't foresee Francona using Miller the way he did right away.

I'm thinking that as well. We can get 5 IP from Kluber without him giving up 3 ER with the bases loaded, I would have to guess. It's "short rest" by normal terms, but it's not as if this is somehow a death knell or even a disadvantage, to be honest. He only tossed 81 pitches last time out, and he was pulled about 90 hours before he'll take the mound tonight. There's no reason to think he won't be fine.

5 shutout from Kluber, 3 from Miller, 1 from Allen is probably the formula now.

Due to the randomness of baseball, it really is a pickem, but I seriously think that for this game, the Indians have the advantage.

The wildcard is Kluber's second consecutive start on 3-days rest, but with the bullpen as rested as it is, they really only need three or four innings from the starter tonight.

I bet he goes 5 tops.

The only question is how much Shaw and Allen throw. Miller is going 3, maybe 4.

So the Yankees didn't have a sale this year, grab great prospects from two different teams, and still were wild card hopefuls till almost the very end?
I've already embarrassed you in other threads to the point where you changed tactics and started trolling. You going to do that here too?
The Indians are one game away from winning the World Series against the best regular season team in the league this year, and they've done it without the guy that just finished 3rd in the MVP race in 2014, as well as 2 of their best 3 arms. Oh, and they're young too, but they're already elite AND under contract. The Yanks have a ways to go.

I'd be fine with that, but don't be so quick to dismiss Shaw. He's been a killer this series, as well - 3 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 6 K

Damn i didn't realize the total runs have been that close. Fun times. This day is crawling by as expected.

NO SHIT!!!

Every single game day has been like that for me. This one by some multiple of the others.

No. the Indians need to win it this year because NO ONE is going to touch the Yankees for the next half decade in the AL. Have you seen the moves they made this year, and they still were in contention. It's going to be evil empire for a while, gents

I kind of agree with you and kind of don't. What happened at the end of this season CANNOT be counted on to be reproduced next season. There are countless examples of this. The only way I see the Yankees being that dominant is if they SPEND like crazy on pitching. The problem is I don't think there is much to spend for when it comes to pitching.

Brian Cashman has proved a couple things and currently he is proving he isn't capable of winning in today's baseball.

What I am HOPING. Kluber 4-5 innings. Miller 3 innings. Allen 1-2 innings. If they have to throw Shaw in there.

In a perfect world, Kluber goes 5 to 6 PERFECT innings :laugh3:

Tomlin was the real mind-scrambler for me. Prior to last night, he had a 1.76 postseason ERA vs RSox, Jays & Cubs. Yesterday, I told someone that at some point Tomlin was going to revert to being Tomlin, but I wanted it to be sometime next week. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut. . .

Predictions:
Cubs in 5. NOPE. BUT STILL MIGHT BE CUBS
Heyward a hero in one game (game 4?). NOT YET
Schwarby move absolutely falls flat. WRONG
Bryant makes two errors. HE HAS MADE TWO
Arrieta pitches a 3-hit win. YES. AND A TWO HIT WIN TOO
Rondon gives up no hits, no walks. TECHNICALLY TRUE HA HA
Addison Russell WSMVP. SIX RBI NIGHT STARTS AN ARGUMENT
Cubs catchers throw out four guys on bases. HOW MANY SO FAR? TWO?

Maybe Heyward can throw someone out at the plate or on the basepath in the 9th tonight.

I can't see Lester in relief. If anyone is on base, it's a straight liability. Lackey throws strikes. Let him come in

The under bet is almost too easy.

It probably means Kluber is going to be a lame duck giving up 3 runs right away and the game gets all crazy after that.

How many innings and/or pitches do you think Cashman has in him tonight?

I can see Lester coming in for relief........he may not come in during a tight spot, but they will throw him in starting off an inning...........
