Well, Tony might as well start preparing for next year because this was probably his best chance to sneak into the chase with a win. I just don't see him running good enough at the remaining tracks to sneak into it with a win. The man has had a horrible string of luck the past few seasons and I don't see any signs of that being reversed.

Smoke is showing signs. He's at least competitive the last few weeks and is showing speed. I agree it is time to focus on next year, but when you start getting good speed, good finishes are soon to follow.

That accident that killed Kevin Ward and the subsequent wrongful death suit by the family has taken a great deal of competitive motivation from Stewart. Whether he continues as a driver or not remains to be witnessed. If he retires and focuses on being an owner wouldn't surprise me. We shall see though.
