Checking out the 2020 schedule

The Sox seem to have a somewhat favorable schedule during the first two months of next year. Not that it's a piece of cake by any stretch, but there seems to be a number of series in which on paper are winnable. We have tough series against teams like the Indians, Red Sox, Rays, and Twins, but we also have quite winnable series against the likes of the Royals, Tigers, Orioles, Angels, Padres, Mariners, Rockies, and Blue Jays. Of course it's not as if these latter teams are pushovers. For instance, I believe the Angels whupped us in our season series this year. But at least we have a shot at playing some winning baseball until the dog days set in.

And it does start getting extra tough in June, pretty much thru the rest of the year. This is when we'll be facing off against a number of powerhouses like the Yankees, A's, Astros, and Dodgers. But all in all, I think we have a shot at getting off to a decent start.
