No. I take a moderate stance that background checks should be required for purchasing a gun. I don't believe assault rifles should be banned, or high capacity magazines. But the idea of a background check just seems like common sense to me.

To be completely honest with you before this whole gun debate started I didn't know they did not require background checks, I would have figured a background check before purchasing a firearm was standard. I think it's absurd not to. I can understand not requiring a mental health check because this could possibly lead people with disorders to avoid treatment but no criminal background checks makes no sense to me.

They locked the entire city down, went door to door and what good did it do them? None. The reason he was found was because some lady reported it.

I also think it is kind of ironic that it takes a school shooting for these people to finally start caring. Shows how much their values matter to them if it takes such a tragic event like that for them to realize what they believe in. I support gun ownership but I do believe the NRA is an absolute and complete joke. Some of the ideas they suggest are just unbelievably stupid.
