The Oldtimer
Older than dirt!!
Lol, and you are not an A-HOLE"???

Okay, fair enough!!Considering he has a Heat and Saints logo he doesn't seem like a NY fan. To be a NY fan you need to root for NY teams, not just the Yankees
Okay, fair enough!!
Yep, that's what I figured. You also may want to keep in mind most Yankee fans are not rooting for the Mets in this series considering who the Dodgers manager is
Fair enough!!Joe Torre said of the slide:
It has nothing to do with if he could reach the base, which he never did touch. It's about when he slid. He slid way too late.
The umps should have called Utley for obstruction & ruled a double play out. Going forward, just like the NFL does every season, there will be a rule emphasis to make sure the umpires start making the correct obstruction call for these plays.

Yeah, right now he should be focused on the Yank.... oh yeah.
Now you've done it. This poor old guy is going to spend the afternoon trying to figure out why Yankees fans would be rooting for Tommy Lasorda. . .
Just trying to keep the old folks busy.
You sadistic fuck. You know he spend an hour and a half this morning trying to log into his microwave?
Joe Torre needs to step in ASAP to remedy this new fiasco.
The replay ruling was bad enough....but now this??
MLB's front office is making the NFL's look like choir boys in comparison.
The whole thing has now officially become a total sham.
How can a ball player slide "too late"? If Utley was in the base path when he slide, then IMO, it's a legal slide.Joe Torre said of the slide:

Good point, Utley should have been called out, but to suspend him is wrong. If Tejada leg was not broken, then Utley would have not been suspended.Replay calls for "non-neighborhood" plays at 2nd base have been a problem all year. Neighborhood plays are not subject to view. MLB needs to fix that shit. Too often, the ball arrives way way before the player is even near the bag, but because a throw causes the guy to reach, they rule the play not a neighborhood play. Thus making the play able to be reviewed. And of course, it leads to the play being reversed. If it's not a bang-bang play at 2B, if the ball beats the runner by a few steps, the runner should be called out in double play situations.
Must C: Collision
I don't think there's much difference in this play. If he doesn't break a bone then no suspension is given.
Yep, that's the way I see it.Must C: Collision

mlb tonight might have been better than snl last night
So, you're saying that if a player slides too late, even if he's in the base path, it's iilegal? You could be right, but I have to see a MLB rule that backs up your claim. He slid when he was even with the bag. Way too late. It has zero to do with being in the base path.
Would any player trying to steal 2B or 3B ever wait to slide till they were already on the bag? No. They slide a few steps before reaching the bag. That is the issue.
