CGD considering going to WSU

College game day producer hints that they are very interested in a trip to Pullman and fans are responding.

Whether this is related to their surprising win over Oregon and strong followup last week, or this is in response to the long standing flag streak either way they are thinking about coming to town on Halloween to cover Stanford's trip to the Palouse.

CGD covering the pirate of the Palouse on Halloween? This so has to happen. (yeah, it probably won't, but still)

WSU Cougars one of 8 finalists for ESPN's College GameDay when it hosts Stanford, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31

Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for WSU. On one hand having college game day on campus is exciting for the university, the students, and the fans, on the other hand I think Stanford will soundly beat them in a nationally hyped game.

For those that missed the drama a few weeks back, the streak of the WSU flag waving on the show was in jeopardy when the flag got held up in shipping. ESPN took one they had hanging at their HQ and over-nighted it to Arizona to ensure the streak would stay alive.

If the Cougs did win I don't think it would be a blowout. It's our homecoming game. With a healthy Solomon I expect a shoutout . Don't expect many defensive highlights in that game.

To see ol' crimson flying on that show on their own campus would bring that whole streak full circle. You know they would be bringing out the pictures of Leach in his various pirate costumes. There is so much that show can do with that for Halloween.

It would be funny and epic all at once. And frankly, it would be the coolest thing that show has done in years considering the choice to take them is neither sexy, nor merit based given their losses. They would be doing it mostly because of the streak and the heart of their organization to keep it alive all these dark years.

I'd be quite surprised if UW wins, but I really don't think it's as much about Stanford as it is about WSU. You HAD to win, Stanford? Not quite as much.

Obviously they are really torn on the two options. Temple getting destroyed by ND, or WSU getting brought back to earth by Stanford.

7-0 owls are trying to make their case, but 7-0 against who? WSU with a couple of tough losses, but with the story of the CGD ol'crimson flag appearance streak and what it has actually meant to the folks at ESPN, as well as a potential Heisman candidate in that game in McCaffrey and a chance to talk about Leach and his outstanding young QB Falk.

If they really knew where they wanted to go, they would have announced it already.
