He just blatantly admits it, which makes him different lol

I kind of agree with @TurnUpTheHeat at this point tho, if LeBron wanted back in Miami, and wouldn't sign a long term guaranteed deal, I don't want to deal with that circus.

It was different when he was 28/29, not now at 32/33, not worth the bullshit.

See,

I might actually prefer a short term deal if he signed with my team (he won't).

That is the best of both worlds, IMO. You aren't committed to him if he falls off a cliff, and his short term deal forces the front office to make every possible move to make the team better, regardless of cost. I think that just might be worth the drama.

Yea, the reports actually came out last night, they talked about it on First Take this morning.

He's telling team USA players that if there's indication LeBron is leaving in 2018 FA (which there already is), that's he's going to demand a trade.
lebrons going to be a laker. his kids are registered for schools there and he has a home there.

How young are you people that you think a 33 year old is ancient?
Would you sign a 33/34 year old LeBron to 3 year contract? People on Sportshoopla were criticizing the Lakers, for signing Kobe to a contract when he was 35.

Yes, literally any GM in the world would sign a 33 year old LeBron to a 3 year contract.

Dude just averaged a triple double in the Finals like 2 weeks ago.

Okay fair enough, I guess that is why I'm not a GM.

unless Lebron decides to opt out of his contract and leave.

LeBron doesn't have an option this off-season. He's locked in for 17-18, then has a player option for 18-19.

3/4 good years and you have George hitting his prime and 3/4 years to get Ball to the level where you can pass the torch.

Hmmm, let me think

3-4 good years of Lebron on what would likely be a 4 year contract at most. Paired with an in his prime PG-13 and the #2 draft pick (likely Ball), plus the remaining young guys the Lakers already have?

Where do I go to sign up for that?

I mean, you have 3-4 good years of the best player in the game, an in his prime star and several young players who can learn and keep it going when Lebron eventually retires and George hits his twilight years.

Not sure what's bad about that? :noidea:

I think the LeBron/Kareem comparison is a good one too. Not because their games are at all similar, but unlike some on here, I think LeBron will continue to age well, like Kareem did. I could definitely see LeBron playing at a high level through his late 30s, and being a solid contributor at 40 if he wants to play that long.

I could be wrong, but iirc, Kareem was a finals MVP at 38.

The issue was not Kobe's age as much as it was the fact that he was coming off a devastating Achilles injury likely to cripple his future playing ability. That, and the fact that the Lakers' first offer to Kobe was higher than I think Kobe would have even asked for given the situation.

Sounds good, but doesn't LeBron want more rings before he retires. I just don't see him getting those rings with the Lakers.

And people forget that during Jordans second 3 peat, he was 34/35/36 won finals MVP all three years and MVP in 96 and 98.

People use guys like Bird/Kobe as the mantle for why LeBron will slow down, but those guys just broke down with injuries, LeBron has never been seriously injured in his life and doesn't really have much wear and tear since he carries around a ton of muscle and bullies people.
