Fantasy owners, if you have had lacking production from your catcher position, or someone recently went on the DL, the Cubs have called up 24 year old Willson Contreras, and Joe Maddon has said that he will get the bulk of the catching work going forward.
This guy absolutely fucking mashed in the minors. I mean, I almost can't believe it. This year he had a 1.035 OPS with a 177 wRC+ in 240 PA. Last year, he had a .891 OPS with a 156 wRC+ in 521 PA.
What has he done in the majors? Hit 2 home runs in 10 PA, and walked at a 10% BB%. OF COURSE, we're talking about 10 PA, but the sample size is much larger in the minors, where's he been awesome. Pick him up if you need some catching help.
