I don’t think we should give up on Kelenic just yet.. He’s young and could come around

I will say it is highly weird they traded the top two SS’s in the organization when one of the Reds top prospects is a SS. I would’ve liked to keep Arroyo just so he can be dealt in the next deal. But I am curious what the Reds asking price was for Castillo and Drury especially since as I said they now have 3 top prospects who can play his position.
Agreed....on arroyo...ian happ may be the best guy..divish...says he plays 2b/3b/if

Which would be ok...with me and cover
outfield as well...

Even though..toro..won the game to night..he has not broke out....yet..

All the Mariners have to do is pick up the phone and call Chaim Bloom. Xander Bogaerts can be had for three or four prospects.
They could probably offer the entire farm system and get Bogaerts, Rafael Devers and a Starter, Nathan Evoldi.

8 good prospects and the Mariners become the number one challengers to the Yankees.

I've seen scouting reports that indicate it's not very likely Marte stays at short and either goes to third or OF. Per MLB.com, Marte is now the Reds best prospect for whatever it's worth.

I think the Mariners shipping away Marte and Arroyo is more a product of the following:
- Arroyo and Marte were the #1 and #3 top prospects for the Mariners depending on the ranking you're looking at
- Both Marte and Arroyo have an MLB ETA that overlaps with J.P. Crawford's contract with the Mariners.
- Following up on the previous point, the Mariners love J.P. Crawford, he's a leader in the clubhouse, a fan favorite and barring him suffering serious injuries/massive drop off in production, I would be surprised if the Mariners let him hit the market after his contract expires.
- Suarez doesn't hit free agency until 2025. If it is true that Marte's future is at 3rd, it's unlikely there will be a spot for him unless the Mariners were to move Suarez to DH.

Obviously a lot can change, but I think given that context it makes a bit more sense that the Mariners gave up those two despite the Reds having a number of IF prospects already in the organization.

If you're being serious, such a scenario is extremely unlikely.

Devers plays third and Bogarts plays short. The Mariners made it clear they won't move J.P. Crawford from SS, so that rules out Bogarts since he has never played second. With Devers, the Mariners likely wouldn't make a move for a third baseman with Suarez under contract through 2025. Hypothetically you can put Suarez at DH, but the Mariners already have so many DH candidates that it wouldn't make sense. Mariners are done with SP after the Castillo trade.

Would I love to have Bogaerts and Devers at SS and 3B respectively? Abso-fucking-lutely. Does it fit with our current roster? Unfortunately not unless you guys would want a deal that includes Suarez and Crawford, which is unlikely.

i would think the same ....but they have to have an idea...of..who they want at ss..at high A...who will fit..at 2B...
or 2B/3B...or backup ss...which moore is....that is moore than crawford.........

frazier...is 1.2...at defence war..at 2b..everyone..says nothing about...like 4th in the league...prob overshadowed..
by him being..a 300 hitter......mariners should re-sign him.......

and he is just getting used to the american league...strike zone...umps and pitchers............

familiarity...breeds contempt....and hopefully a higher batting..ave....
