Carter and Richards hard partying ways led to trades?

the trades were simply the flyers FO taking the coach over the players, a very rare decision

a pretty easy one I think considering their long term contracts. if they could get takers (which of course they did for good return) then its a win/win for the Flyers. get rid of 2 potential problems for 10+ years for solid young talent. Will Flyers be better short term without them? not sure. Im excited to see however.

same here.. i thought they got great return in thsoe trades.. in 2-3 years i think we'll be talking about both of them being steals

brayden schenn is supposed to turn into mike richards.. + you get wayne simmonds who is a good 3rd liner who can bump to 2nd if there's an injury

couturier might end up being better than carter.. + you get voracek who is a good 2nd liner

i'm not sure they denied it? i certainly never did.. it was pretty well chronicled that these 2 partied their asses off.. photos, articles, etc.. they were everywhere

as far as thinking the team should get rid of them, i'd say it was split pretty even on 'the flyers should get rid of 1 of richards or carter' and 'carter and richards are the young core of the team, you can't move them'

i dont think anyone saw both of them getting traded coming though
