One of the worst owners in professional sports, the team didn't have much else to cheer for. Did I mention they play their games in Baltimore?

I know about bad owners. Art 'the weasel' Modell. Jimmy 'the jackass' Haslam. Indians owner Larry Dolan's so damn cheap that some years ago he said the reason his team couldn't sign free agents was due to all the money George Steinbrenner spent on free agents.

Cleveland has a trifecta of dumb owners. And that doesn't even include former Cavs owner Ted Stepien. He fired Chuck Daly.

Career no-hitters: Nolan Ryan,7.

With the moves to specialized pitching, some of these guys won't even have seven career complete games, much less no-hitters.

Maris was never embraced by Yankees fans who preferred Mantle. He received hate mail for being the one to do it instead of fan favorite Mantle.
his hair fell out due to the stress.

probably the most forgotten back to back MVP winner ever.

I never noticed Pujols hitting into that many double plays. Has he always been incredibly slow or is it the shift? Or maybe a combination of the two plus the fact that he doesn't strike out that much

One of those little stats that I have to see if there is deeper research on.

#1 Batting average in a DP situation (runner on 1st, less than 2 outs
#2 Ground ball % with runners on base
#3 and probably the hardest to find. How many of those ground balls were give ups to score a runner from 3rd with no outs. How many RBIs did he give up? Situational baseball.

If they get five innings out of a starter that is considered good.

Conversation has since derailed, but it’s arguable that a Julio Franco is his late 40’s was the best first baseman the Braves had between Andres Galarraga and Freddie Freeman

A career.303 BA is nothing to sneeze at. How many of today's players will be able to do that?

ahh... so you conveniently left off the rest of the post... Just to try to make me look dumb... good work...

is a .303 great for a great player?? no!!! is it great when you have 24 seasons under your belt?? absolutely!!!

Saw something recently about Franco. Joined the team at age 42 and still ranks in top 20 in franchise history for games played at 1b.

Its pitching and he was in the ***** leagues. But Satchel Paige put up numbers that make Pete Roses stats look easy. 50 no hitters. 2000 wins. Pitched in 150 games in one season.

However, its difficult to verify these stats because of the ***** leagues...

The 0-54 streak by Chris Davis was pretty damn impressive. And with DH's possibly replacing pitchers, may be pretty hard to replicate.

with runners on 1st and 3rd and no outs he hit into 16 in 110 Plate Appearances. But in that situation he also batted .518 with a 1.326 OPS with 78 RBI so I guess he did some damage.
