OMG - I almost lost it when the Cards recovered that kick at the start of the 2nd half. There is no way that should happen. Players need to be a little more alert - I guess that was a good lesson.

So I have asked this question numerous times.

Do we really think Bruce Allen is capable of drafting a QB??

Yea. Anybody is. Draft success appears to be pretty much just luck. I don't think bruce knows jack shit about building a team, but as far as drafting there's a good chance it doesn't matter.

I give you... the Browns. Either they have the worst luck on the planet, or apparently any one can do it is a bit of a broad statement.

And by saying do you think Bruce is capable of drafting an elite QB, I guess I should have phrased that another way.

Do you think Bruce Allens idea of what a QB should be, is in line with what a QB actually should be able to do?? My guess would be, Bruces idea of a QB, drastically differs from my idea of what a QB should be.

116 rating with a team that has 30 yards rushing...that is carrying the offense. Question is...why didn’t we throw more?

This. You all know I was a big believer in the fact that Kirk has had a lot of help the past 2 seasons. Garcon, jackson, Reed, Crowder, and our line is a great supporting cast.

But this year? He's got crowder. Davis is ok. Thompson was playing well but now is hurt. The oline hasn' been healthy all year. The only person keeping shit from completely blowing up right now is kirk. I dint know how you can judge him harshly for this year.

I'd have to go find the study I'm referring to to good you a better answer. The jist of it however was that there aren't actually good and bad talent evaluators. It's just kind of all the teams and gms together and sometimes some of them get lucky.

Ehh. I don't think it really matters that much what bruce thinks. At the end of the day let's say Rosen, darnold, mayfield, jackson, and allen are all projected to go first round. Ultimately we may all have our opinions om them, but none of us actually know who will be a star and who will bust. Bruce can pick one at random based on any characteristic he pleases and he'll have a decent shot at getting it right.

Was it a great supporting cast?

Maybe KC made them look better, because the offense was just fine this season until the injuries mounted.

I think so. I think Garcon and djax are both great, healthy reed is elite, and that's one of the best olines in the league.

So basically we have a franchise QB carrying a bunch of backups at present. Give him back some GOOD talent and the offense becomes lethal.

See alot of people (around here and other sites) are saying Kirk is simply above average and does not deserve to be paid like a franchise QB. But considering what he has had to work with, especially the past six weeks, I think he has put together a good argument for actually being a franchise QB.

I think that's getting into semantics. There's no dictionary definition of franchise QB we can all agree on.

He's a good qb in a league that doesn't have a lot of those. Whether he's a "franchise qb" depends on everybody's personal definition of the term.

Thats funny because at the beginning of the year, alot of folks around here were saying he wasnt a franchise QB because he couldnt carry the team. Well he has done just that because without Kirk.. .we are the Browns, Giants or 49ers. He isnt an elite QB (yet) But he is a franchise QB.

Again you ask 10 people to define franchise qb and you'll get 10 different answers. It's a pretty useless term.

He is a QB that should have been locked up at least one year ago. There should be ZERO question now. Anyone that thinks he played well because he had DJax and Garcon just don't know shit about the game. Now he has been learning and progressing over these three years and that might be more evident with the lack of help he has had this year. But then some thought he was stagnant two years ago so more folks that just don't understand the game.

If the NFL ever runs short of Grounds Keepers, they need look no further than Redskins nation. Some of these guys may have no idea how to mow a lawn, but they can move goal posts like its an art form.

Are they? Garçon is a solid WR and far from great IMO. He is my kind of player though. Give me hard nosed guys like Hines Ward and I am happy.

DeSean is not great either. He is doing nothing with Winston throwing and Evans on the other side.

Our OL is good as pass protection when healthy. I question if they are a complete line.

Again, we were doing well at the beginning of the season. It is hard to judge since.

No idea. Don't really care to come up with a definition. Don't think it matters.

Maybe a guy good enough to win a SB.

I mean I think we can both agree they're very good receivers coupled with an elite tight end, very good slot receiver, and great OL. That's pretty good right there.
