look, I know theres been times in NFL history where a backup QB has come in and helped a team go far into playoffs, but not in this era of football. Not in a passing league. You can live with a guy like Stanton if your running game was ranked high, and in this case its almost the worst in all of football. So not only are you missing your starting QB, you're forced to play one when the defense knows you can't run the ball. How can you expect to win?
We have to hope they steal one and go 10-6 at this point. Stanton will not win on the road. We might get a home game with the crowd behind them, the D playing perfectly, and a few breaks going our way.
This game reminded me of what it was like watching them when Max Hall and Skelton were QBing. Turned it off in the 4th quarter. Stanton is horrible. He's led the offense to six points in the past two games. One was against a great D, but the other was against a terrible one. The verdict is in...this isn't some decent QB that got handled by a great D....he's a crap QB.
You guys shouldn't give up, today wasn't good of course and now the west is in play but I'd be shocked if you don't make the playoffs. Arians will make adjustments and your club will play better than they showed today.
K.C. will be tough but with Berry out now that should help Stanton and the passing offense maybe Fitz will be back, you win that one and get back on track all of the sudden it will have a very different feel than it does today.
Arians was terrible today. Didn't challenge an obvious bad call and cost the team 41 yards. Had his head up his behind most of the game.
The problem with Arians is, on offense, he doesn't make adjustments. He has not restructured the gameplan to take into account Stanton's limitations in comparison to Palmer.
Hate to say it, but they might want to consider signing Ray Rice. Just about every team in the league has a small list of dirtbags, degenerates, buffoons, and quasi-criminals in their fold. He wouldn't be the first one to enter this roster (Washington, Dwyer, Abraham).
