Would be idiotic to make this announcement before next Wednesday. He can only be dealt on that date, not before... so making the announcement before then could only give AB time to sabotage the deal if it doesn’t suit his ego.
Unless the trade partner is ideal, there is no reason to risk letting AB derail the deal.
Steelers need to stay firm. They are in the driver's seat. Can't let him take the wheel, scuttle trades? Fine, we're keeping you for 3 more years.
I have no idea what Buffalo was thinking. I realize they need playmakers. But AB would probably ruin Josh Allen's career.
Oh I guarantee this is what happened. Exactly why I said it made no sense to release it. They had til next Wednesday before the roster bonus hit. Leaking this to the media before then was a horrible decision. Of course AB will straight up tell that team he will not report, and here we are.Seems this is exactly what he is doing.
And forcing Pittsburgh to have to pay him the guaranteed money and fuck up the cap space they were looking to save.
And yet he still holds to the claim, he's done and is doing nothing wrong.
What a piece of shit.

Fucking idiotic however this got leaked. It absolutely ruined their chances of trading this asshole. Now they are going to be stuck with his roster bonus because this BUF incident will send a league-wide notice that AB has no intentions of reporting to a team that doesn’t suit his ego. I highly doubt they get a deal done now.
Madden is a bloated ass, but I agree with everything he says here.
and I just renewed my season tickets....yay!This season, and offseason, has been the most pathetic and embarrassing series of unfortunate events I've ever seen as a Steelers fan.
Rooney, Colbert, and Tomlin have an opportunity and responsibility to reassert who the Steelers are. They aren't a team to be taken advantage of, toyed with, or disrespected.
Brown isn't in the drivers seat. He is an employee they already paid up front for, for the next three years. Steelers need proper compensation, or he needs to be shown who has all the power in this dynamic. AB has been doing everything he can to sabotage the Steelers from moving on from him in a way that properly compensates them.
Maybe he could be disruptive in the locker room next year? Sure, but then that's also an opportunity for the Steelers to show players discipline. It's not like they have to let him sit there ranting and raving in the camp or the lockers.
Otherwise, have fun retiring.
