Usually I have that playoff sweat going. Where I have to have on a certain Caps shirt. Watch in a certain room. Sit in a certain chair.

Last night I turned it on as if it was a regular season game. Not excited. Waiting for the impending doom.

When Oshie scored I was in the kitchen and I heard the TV. I literally said, "hold up, we scored again?" Playoff sweat officially activated.

Counting down to tomorrow.

Well, it IS time for somebody else to lose in miserable miserable fashion when playing the caps.

I mean, I know they already won ONE Cup in 2018, but Ovi is the greatest goal scorer ever, and he - and we - deserve a second Cup, considering how fucking miserable the Redskins, Wizards and Orioles have been for a few years now (at least) and how bad the Nationals are going to be for a few years....

it's one game, but it's one big win.

They werent going to sweep the panthers, but vitek looked bad. BAD.

After the 10 minute mark the entire team has been bad.

Vitek makes most of the saves he should make but does not make big saves. Sammy will make spectacular saves then let in an easy one or two. I have said all year they need a goalie.

The lack of offense is hurting a lot. Bob has been a wall.

They came out to win. You could tell they weren't satisfied. You're right, after about the ten min mark and that first goal is went down hill fast.

Had a 3 on none early and whiffed.

Sammy made 17 saves, Vitek made 13 saves on 18 shots.

Second killer goal was the 3rd one. They had just got back in the game and Vanecek gives up a 5 hole goal 20 seconds later. Should have been an easy stop.

Alan May in part is blaming the ice but Florida sure seemed like they could pass and shoot okay.

For all the years we watched the Caps and they were the big offensive machine it is kind of funny to watch them now. They are the team that needs to be buttoned up defensively to stop the offense of the Panthers.

I have been saying this all year, they need a goaltender.

When the Caps show up to play collectively, they can beat up on anybody in the league.

On the flipside, when they suffer from defensive lapses and turnovers, missed assignments and poor puck possession, they dont have the talent to avoid being beaten by even the worst teams in the league.

Sidenote: I dont know why anybody would mess with Ovi, who has elevated his game to another level in the playoffs since 2018. Dont hook him, dont check him hard, dont piss him off.

Also, I still really enjoy the fact that Ovi, at 36 years old, looks to hit players ten years younger than him as often as possible in the playoffs.
