wow cba experts unite.

if he is sent down and up does he clear waivers as its a 2 way deal? good for Peter for understanding what he needs to do to get back in the NHL. he left a bit of a punk but came back mature. and we still have Salo.... oh wait a second

I thought there was a discussion saying that if the AHL price is $105k or more, that the player wasn't exposed to waivers moving up and down.
not positive of the wrinkles, but I think that's a general rule.

if it is OVER $105K he requires re-entry waivers. At exactly $105k he can come up and down as often as required without re-entry waivers. That is what I gathered from CDC, but who knows how accurate that info is.......

I believe it is true.

Yep it's the Wade Flaherty rule. Remember in 2005 when cloutier got hurt right off the bat and was gone for the year? Alex auld stepped in as starter? We needed a backup and veteran goalie Wade Flaherty was ripping up the AHL (49 games played 6 shutouts 2.40gaa .919sv%) but made too much (old rule was 75,000 i'm pretty sure. We ended up having to trade for Maxime Oulette(5th round pick) and Mika Noronen(2nd round pick) even though we had a better goalie in the system.

The poor guy played 20 years in the AHL and saw 120 NHL games over that time, the year after they changed the rules so that AHL veterans could get a better salary and still get a shot at a call up.

Apparently this year and next year it is $105K. I think last year it was $100K Aand after next year it goes to $110k. Something like that anyway. I am trying to recall a table I saw. At my age the brain doesn't remember things like it used to

He'd be on waivers if we sent him down (that's based on age and games played), but he wouldn't have to clear waivers on the way back up.
