Well, I'm sure they have their reasons/rationale. I will only say that there's seems to be a real negative mojo for Hunter over the last several months and I'm not sure why.

me thinks these hip injury issues are the cause of alot of that

seems to be a recurring thing for canucks prospects who have played lights out in their first pro training camp and ended up not making the final cut ... and then being cursed with bad luck thereafter (ie Bourdon and Nik Jensen)

You are probably correct about his hip issues...

/Sweden beat the States 4-2 today - The Americans don't look as scary on defense without Trouba and Jones back there.

It's weird, isn't it? I hate to say it but he kind of seems to be going the Angelo Esposito route: tear it up in the year before his draft, regress somewhat in his draft year and then kind of plateau or stop developing.

I think Shinkaruk will be a whole lot better than Esposito but his development trajectory has to be kind of a concern for the Nucks at this point.

I dont think theyre concerned ... maybe about his health and the hip

i think they are more concerned with Gaunce (now trade fodder)

I have heard (could be true, could also be a bunch of crap) that he didn't interview all that well prior to the draft (basically they think he's pretty cocky, doesn't have a good attitude etc.). Those type of things tend to stick with a guy.

this is true ... cant forget he almost made the team (ahead of Horvat) coming out of camp ... there was a poor mans Patrick Kane comparison that actually came out of the canucks room :noidea:

I forgot about Gaunce. I thought he was bluechipper. Maybe not a star but a third-liner in the NHL. He's underperforming? :noidea:

He's producing but i think they have taken Butters comments to heart about him ... they dont like his skating thats for sure

big hub bub here about a segment they have been showing on Sportsnets Canucks TV and on the big screen in Rogers arena during the game intermissions in the last homestand

kind of a state of the union prospect edition between Joe kenward and Mike Gillis ... Gillis names every canucks prospect they are high on including Patrick McNally in the NCAA ... no mention of Gaunce :noidea:

2nd line doesn't look too shabby either.

If Drouin is good to go that first line will be dynamite. So much speed and skill. I love Lazar's two-way game. Should let the other two feel a bit more free out there.

yes, Sweden has a pretty strong squad - they could content for gold as well. :)

same zamboni broke down again. big rut in the ice, delayed the finland -USA game

finland's forward lines. i would pay good money to hear Bob Cole call this game
Finland lines v USA: Lehkonen-Teravainen-Maenalanen; H Ikonen-Mustonen-J Ikonen; Kulmala-Kinnunen-Nikko; Parikka-Rauhala-Leskinen
