Definitely entertaining, that's for sure. The wider ice surface makes it more difficult to block shots, which is certainly a bugaboo in the NHL these days. Of course, it will be a very tough sell for the owners to give up those rows of seats (and revenue) to accomodate a 200x100 ice surface.

I think this is Canada's first PP of the game (and so far, it stinks)

dont forget the structural retrofit ... its not as easy as just removing the seats ... foundation issues for some arenas

Yeah, that's a good point jstew. I just don't want to see any more lines painted on the ice (I read Duhatschek's 3-in-the-key solution (okay, it was Pierre Page's idea) and almost puked). Going to international ice could be done though and with guys bigger, stronger, and faster, I hope it does happen.

so much more room and time for him to skate and make a first pass ... no more ducking hits because opposition players are farther away on the forecheck ... honestly think he would rack up a shitload of assists
