Down 2-0 going into the bottom of the 6th, the Pirates would do well to get a few runs and win this game.

Gallardo, as usual, though, is just shutting us down.

AJ's giving us a start where he's keeping us in the game, though, and we need to reward him for that.

2 outs and the bases loaded, who do we use to pinch hit? Fort seems to be the most likely candidate since Rod's out of the game, but Holt is also available, and he's been pretty good in his early career.

We need to get at least 2 out of this if we want to have a chance to win the game, though. Any hit would be good, of course, since it gets us at least one run and puts Marte at the plate in a situation he seems to like.

If the Pirates don't start showing some damn pride & they allow this collapse to continue, yet again & we let the losing seasons streak reach 20 yrs? After being 62 - 46 ( 16 Gms above .500 ) on August 8th, I believe?

Then, Flat Out, I believe we should clean house.

From the manager, to the GM, to the scouting director, on down!

It is incredibly discouraging.

The Pirates were 58-42 at the 100-game mark, 16 games over .500. They split their next 8 games, getting them to 62-46. So..... after 108 games, they remained 16 games over .500.

It has taken them only 40 games to lose that entire 16-game cushion. That's a record of 12-28 (.300).

Guess what the Astros' record is over their last 40 games..... that's right, 12-28.

That's right and ..... both discouraging and disgusting.

I wonder if there's a Pirate fan alive who still believes they're going to break the losing streak in 2012. I have anticipated for several weeks that the Pirates would NOT make the playoffs..... but it seemed completely unreasonable to anticipate another losing season.

Now, I do.



So..... can Wandy delay the seemingly inevitable today?

This is surreal, it is quite embarassing watching this team on a regular basis. There really isn't one person on the roster who I'm not dissapointed in.
