For the "Loss" and dropping the ball!!!

He was just mocked on the jumbotron at a Celtics game by a fan and people are still blaming him for the Super Bowl loss.

It's time to MOVE on from that! Sure he didn't catch the ball... but did he allow the Giants to march down the field to win? NO.... It's NOT his fault people!

He didn't catch it.... Sure, he catches it and the Patriots win......

BUT the D didn't do their jobs either... He was NOT the sole reason they lost... Period!

No one is ever the sole reason a team lost.

But he was the most responsible party and it's not close.

I couldn't believe it when he didn't catch the ball. NE has lost their past two SBs because of droped balls. Asante Samuel droped an interception that went right into his hands and chest. It would have been a pick six. Then the next play their WR makes the most famous SB catch ever. Bad luck.

Oyyyyy are we talking about the poorly thrown ball by Brady? That Welker miss, yet Welker is more responsible for how Brady throws the ball. Oyyyyy

Yet people only blame Welker and say he is the sole reason the Pats lost

I know an agree. There are Pats fans that see Brady as a god, and cannot or will not be objective when conversing about Brady. I have seen it for to many years. I get blasted all the time for stating that Brady is in decline, I have been saying that for two years now. IMO it was a poorly thrown ball and Wes made a damn good play just to get a hand on it.

I guess Pats fans are going to revisit this now that Welker isn't one of theirs anymore. But that was on Welker, not Brady. It's not even arguable. The ball hit him in the palms of both hands. If Brady had led him more as his critics suggest he would have led him right into the outside coverage that was quickly converging on him. That was a drop, pure & simple.

Oh stop. It was in the palms of both hands and he dropped it. Since when is having to turn to face the QB some sort of great play ? Welker routinely has been among the league leaders in drops and he was again this season.

Yes reseat, I read the thread title. It's astonishment at a Welker thread asking folks not to discuss Welker when nobody was discussing Welker that brings my query.

Hey you are allowed to be misguided I won't argue with you because you are wrong. End of conversation.

She should have kept her mouth shut but she was right. That's a drop if I did it in Boys Club ball when I was 13 and I would have heard about it from my coach, too. Anyone who doesn't think that was a drop has never been a receiver at any level.

That settles it. It was a drop. Thanks. Anyone who thinks there was anything remotely extraordinary about Welker's effort on that play has never played receiver, period. That one is referred to as "the ball hit him in a bad spot".
