If no one else wants to step forward, I think we have a good group of 5 to consider. I won't be around this weekend, so Dash or Boss can accept more volunteers and meanwhile, go ahead and throw out ideas on how to proceed with the selection of our new Modulator (vote, mods choose, etc.)

I think maybe I navigated away by accident, but it said basically...
-I think we are a mature enough board to vote on who we think would be a good mod, not just popularity
-I think Ritari would make a great mod (no idea if he is interested) and already does many "mod-like" things during arguments
-I would make a terrible, terrible mod

A good mod should be objective and not be a "hard ass" because they feel they need to live up to a reputation. Mods should be open minded and follow the rules and accept a posters POV even if you do not agree with them.

I would be reluctant to nominate a person that feels they have the need to be a "tough guy" and shit can a posters because because they disagree or want to make a statement.

From reading some of the post hear I have the feeling that being a mod is is a piece of cake and everything is cut and dry.

Keep in mind that it's more work than most think and for every choice you make some will like it and some will not.

It's not a power job it's a job that requires common sense and it sure as hell isn't a popularity contest. I have made decisions that have gotten PM's pro's and con's and trying to follow GNT's can be a challenge at times.

Being a MOD is not a popularity contest (as it shouldn't be) but it's not always the fun and games that some apparently think it is.
