If Caleb throws 1 more TD he will break the Bears rookie passing record that has stood since 1942.
Thats funny.....

Good trivia question.......my guess would be Luckman's record??
If not its gotta be Lujack's......??

Wow that is pathetic......never heard of Charlie O,and a backup had 11......?
O'Rouke did that with 37 completions.....thats nuts.

If you didnt give a year,my guess would have been Jim McMahon or Luckman.

Thanks for the tidbit.

Nice bit of trivia there.

O'Rourke only attempted 88 passes that year but threw 16 interceptions. Also nagged 3 interceptions on defense and punted the ball 23 times.

Much different game back then.

Despite Caleb's up and down season, and it might be safe to say there have been more downs than up at this point, he's still on target for a decent year, at least stats wise. If he maintains his current average passing YPG, he would end up with 3700 yards. However, in his last three games, all against the very tough Norris opponents, he's averaged 276 YPG. Now extrapolate those numbers out for the remainder of the year and he could end with almost 4000 yards passing. Probably not likely, what with the winter weather setting in - the final three games will all be played in the very cold and possibly snow, which more often than not dampens a QB's numbers. Still, I'm amazed at the possibilities considering the year our team is having.

Get that oline tweaked, his inaccurate passes tweaked,Caleb will no doubt break the elusive 4000 yd mark......

We finally have that qb we have always wanted.......

Two critiques that I believe are fair regarding Caleb's first season, and you just mentioned one of them. He does need to improve on his accuracy. Obviously not all bad passes are directly his fault. Sometimes he has to hurry his throws due to the other team's pass rush. I'm sure there are other occasions when perhaps the receiver was in the wrong spot. But all in all, he does need to work on this. His other less-than-great trait is the tendency to hold onto the ball too long. Again, there are other factors that aren't all against him. I'd nonetheless like to see him either throw shorter, quicker passes or for plays that take a little more time to develop, he needs to know when to throw the ball away once the pocket is collapsing. Way too many sacks, these need to be cut down dramatically.

Right now Im not too wortied about it........next season will be concerning if it continues to happen with a (hopefully) ramped up oline and a year under his belt.....then it may get worrisome.

But he fladhes the reason why he was rated no.1 qb coming out of college.

Caleb will be fine. We just need competent coaching. He's playing remarkable in spite of the coaching.

Agreed with you both. Don't want to come across as being negative on Caleb, I'm just pointing out what I feel are the remaining flaws in his rookie season. To the contrary, I've been liking a lot more from what I see of him lately. I think this has already been pointed out, but that he's only thrown one INT in the past nine games tells me he's really starting to get the hang of things. Yes, improvement is needed, but no doubt he's heading in the right direction. I'm like you guys, all in!!!

Strange to see Bears fans wanting to start Bagent.

That would be like the Dolphins starting Skylar Thompson when they have a healthy Tua.

From Sports Mockery:

If [Caleb Williams'] current trajectory holds, he is projected to finish with 3,590 yards passing, 529 rushing, 20 touchdown passes, and six interceptions.

Forget the best rookie passing season. That would qualify as the sixth-best season ever in franchise history for somebody who started at least 12 games.

Thats kinda crazy......even tho they schedule 17 games these days....
For a team thats been around for over a 100 years, thats kinda crazy to think.

Caleb Williams now owns the sixth-longest streak without throwing a pick, in NFL history. We've gone beyond the rookie record, now. Williams is working on all-time NFL history.

He now owns the sixth-most passing yards in a single season in Bears franchise history with 3,269. Of course, he still has two games to go.

And, with one more 300-yard game, Williams will have thrown more of those, in one season, than any other quarterback in Bears history.

Now I'm not the one saying this, its like the 4th time now that this has been brought on different NFL Shows, that Caleb Williams needs to be more aggresive....He has not thrown a pick in 9 games, but we have also lost 9 games in that span......

Other qbs played more aggressive and threw picks(names were Hofers)........Manning,Farve,Elway just to name a couple.

I look at CWs stats every week, and other than the same shit of a bad oline, holding on to the ball too long and those godawful bad throws,I he is playing decently to where it doesnt warrant the int talk.....
And here all this time I thought not throwing ints was a good thing....
Caleb has attempted 505 passes for 7th in the league.....
Where is he is not being aggresive enough....??
I dont get it.......

You guys put better words in to these discussions,am I looking into something that they think is there,or is it the 4 or 5 talking heads saying thisare completely wrong.

No matter how it gets expressed here, i think we all want the same thing - for the Bears to win.

Yes, we are currently losing which sucks but the fact that Caleb is setting marks in his inaugural season has got to be encouraging. Especially since we've seen awful rookies come in and stink up the place on top of losing.

With a new coaching staff, and hopefully some new pieces on both lines, i am optimistic for 2025.

But the interception talk is not what Im getting.....

Why the negative talk when I totally think its a great thing of not turning that ball over.....

Now I gotta admit,I paid more attention to my fft than I did the Bears game, but Kevin Wildes said the only reason Caleb played better Sunday is when the game got out of hand.....but its more than Wildes talking that shit too....so it does kinda make me wonder.

And I dont know how true that is either......

Damned if you do,damned if you dont......
