Where was this from? Just curious cuz I haven’t seen anything like that on Daniels. KK yes, Daniels no.
Mully brought it up to Brad Biggs whether anyone asked him the question of what he thought about the interview process with the bears.

dont know if this link works, its 15-16 minutes if you want to fast forward. There was never really an answer other than squirelly, but if will be interesting if he gives out a signal after he scores. Patrick Mahomes waited a long time before he had the opportunity.

that was a great listen, thank you :yo:

They are definitely talking about Kliff Kingsbury's interview for a coaching job in Chicago. They mentioned him by name. I was thrown off by you saying Jayden as Bears never even brought him in for an interview, they were all in on Caleb from the get go.

What's the story about mahomie, what signal and a message to who?

That was the thing, we never heard about it, which was what made it more news to me.

Patrick Mahomes on counting to 10 after TD: Just having fun

Published December 23, 2019 01:56 AM

After Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a touchdown pass to tight end Travis Kelce in Sunday night’s win over the Bears, NBC cameras showed Mahomes counting to 10 with outstretched fingers on his way off the field.

It wasn’t hard to guess at the meaning of the gesture. Mahomes was the 10th overall pick of the 2017 draft and, as we were reminded often this week, the Bears were among the teams to pass him up. They passed him up in order to trade up for Mitchell Trubisky with the No. 2 overall pick.

It’s a decision that has not aged well at all, although Mahomes said after the game that he was “just out there having fun” and there wasn’t “necessarily a meaning.

I dont know about anybody else, but I had a feeling I knew exactly what he wanted to say when he did it.

That's quite the troll from Mahomie. WOW and LOL. He and Brady are next level when it comes to things they think of as snubs.

I honestly can't imagine Jayden doing something like that but who knows what lurks deep in the mind. He appears one to 'stay medium' and simply prove things on the field of play while smiling.

Question for you guys since I have seen half of a game and bits and pieces of a few others this season.....

Is Caleb regressing? From what I have SEEN a lot of his issues are the OL since he is a young QB and even good young signal callers will have their ups and downs during their rookie season.

I guess it depends who you ask.

Waldron runs a pistol offense (or a version of it). Its not complicated, but it does take all 11 guys to execute. Its an offense that clicks when theyre on the same page. But its an offense that can look awful when they arent.

Obviously Caleb will need more than 8 games to grow into it.

Regressing.....??....??

Im not sure, but its hard to play that position when the oline collapses everytime he drops back......they need more shotgun formations on the pass plays,I know that gives away the play, but damn it that line is bad.....

CW needs to learn to get rid of the ball faster, enough oc that scrambling......
His accuracy is bad.......32nd in the league bad.
He still leads the league in off target throws with 62.....2nd in the league is Rodgers with 57 and AR has played one less game. Horrendous.

BIll Barnwell of ESPN:

Caleb has thrown more than 23% of his passes off target. The only other qb above 19% is Bryce Young. Some of that is pressure, but he is also throwing a league worst 19.1% of his passes off taget without pressure.

So its just more than holding on the ball too long and the line, gotta think its also his accuracy on top of it.

Jeff Saturday just said his qbr is 3 when he has 3 or more seconds to throw. Worst in the league........It doesnt matter who the coordinator is,he is creating the problem himself.....

yeah, we have a shit line that can only give the guy 4-5 seconds to make a decision and throw the ball or get sacked. Great ones are getting rid of the ball in 2-2.5 enough so the defense cant send the house constantly, so when they actually get 4 seconds the ball is in the air 40 plus yards. Earlier in the year, his percentage when he did not hold the ball more than 2.5 seconds was at the top of the league, now he is constantly at the bottom.

Just like fields with the blame going anywhere else than where it belongs. We all knew what we were drafting, and I actually read a story yesterday about seeing more patriot defenders helping caleb up than we saw the bears players helping him up and questioning how "liked" Williams is in the clubhouse.

I read that myself, and story where players are asking CW to be benched maybe spot-on......Of course I dont know that for a fact, but sure seems strange.

We can blame the coaching and the oline all we want, but the fact is with his accuracy is also to blame for this shithole mess we are in.

Tired of watching these highlites of his passing whern given the time,he has been way off......so I can see where maybe wrs are tired of running routes for nothing.

Go watch the tape. They ain't getting open, and even if they did, the route concepts are so retarded, there will probably be three other receivers in the same vicinity.

The o-line is shit, the plays are shit and the WRs are not winning battles. Play after play, there is nothing.

This is a monumental failure by Eberflus and Co. Caleb isn't perfect by any means, but from what I've watched, he is the least of our problems, but will quickly become the biggest if they don't help him out.

I totally agree with all that.....
But nothing is gonna change this year tho....saddening we gotta wait for a whole year.....
But still 1 of every 5 passes when there is no pressure and he still cant hit an open reciever........and he should be getting better, but its still the same ol' same'ol.....its a little concerning to me.

The one I pointed out somewhere that I thought a game thread was not even started was early in the last game, Kmets job was to pull across the formation to block, apparently a blitzing linebacker or DB. Nobody was there, he turned around at the line of scrimmage and Williams took a sack. The defender was 5 yards deep. Would it have been a first down, maybe it Kmet ran over the guy, but it was a hit he did not have to take, Kmet could have taken it and got some positive yardage.

the play when people were bitching that DJ Moore ran out of bounds, DJ was open, he was open 10 yards from the sideline, he was open 5 yards from the sideline, he kept running until he ran out of bounds.

Dont want to defend anyone, just what I saw that would clearly get on these receivers nerves. As far as the retarded routes and two or three guys in the same space, I sure hope that changes. But they did promote the passing game coordinator to the OC role. He will also be up in the booth so he wont be getting in anyones faces when they screw up.

I also hope they are going back to first 15 scripted plays so at least this team might look prepared to face the fudge.

We had the same issue with Fields, but Fields would just start running instead of trying to throw a pass. What nobody seems to get is getting the ball out early will slow down a pass rush.

If anyone can find the segment with John Gruden (think its on Get Up) and how the Bears should handle Caleb, it was a good example of how the coaching staff is failing Caleb.

Found it. During a Pardon My Take podcast, Jon Gruden shared his thoughts on Caleb Williams:

“He [Caleb Williams] is going to be a hell of a player unless we [Chicago Bears] screw it up. Let’s be honest with you. You’ve had a lot of guys come through here but this guy’s a unique talent. Right now, he needs support and he needs it most from his coach and the blue chip leaders we have on the team. I don’t know what kind of leadership they have on this Bears football team. I think they’re all searching for an identity but we better figure it out. But you gotta get excited about Caleb Williams and keep putting your arm around this guy and challenging him and helping him get through it.”

I am guessing any out of work coach is going to be completely positive about Caleb. Gruden is still being paid 10 million a year until 2028 by the raidas though, isnt he still?

If Caleb throws 1 more TD he will break the Bears rookie passing record that has stood since 1942.
