Center Adam Henrique of the New Jersey Devils, left wing Gabriel Landeskog of the Colorado Avalanche and center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Edmonton Oilers are the three finalists for the 2011-12 Calder Trophy, which is awarded “to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition,” the National Hockey League announced today.

Landeskog should win this easily...

/Henrique had a fine season as well, but Landeskog was driving the bus for Colorado down the stretch and almost got them into the playoffs.

Adam The Truth Henrique fell off pretty hard the last 90 days of the season, as did most guys on New Jersey. I think you have to give it to Landeskog.

Landeskog because he single-handedly made our draft pick about 5 picks worse.

Edit: Varly's annual groin pull not happening also attributed to it.

Landeskog wins it, but Matt Read not being nominated is a snub even considering his age.

I don't know if "snub" is the right word.

The three nominees were certainly deserving. Honestly, had Nugent-Hopkins played a full year, I would expect we would be choosing him in a landslide.

Matt Read led all rookies in goals on a cup contender.

RNH missed to many games IMO

Henrique pretty much turned the Devils season around, and did so on the first line most of the year, while starting the season in the AHL. If anyone shouldnt be there its RNH
