I'm leaving on a jet plane to SD for a wedding. Any way to catch the game on a local channel or is it head for a sports bar and hope for the best?

No go, bro.

Even the sports-bar approach should prove difficult. This is not much of a baseball town.

There is only 1 bar that I have ever even heard referenced as a SF bar, and that is in the heart of North Park (If you know anything about SD, you are not surprised about the location).

I go with MLBtv or I listen on MLBradio.

You may be surprised if you do a Google search on "SF Giants bar San Diego" or some such variant.

I did that in Charlotte looking for a Syracuse bar, went there and the place was packed with raucous SU fans. Had a great time.

Unfortunately, we lost, but only because the refs really ripped us off.

This may be outdated info, but I used to catch some Giants games at U31. It's a bar on University. Usually more than a couple Giant fans in there. That said, I've been away from my beloved SD for a few years now, and that scene may have changed. Also, if you ask some random Joe where to catch a Giants game in SD, they are likely to tell you somewhere in Hillcrest, a traditionally homosexual community. Anti-Giant/Niners fans are usually pretty creative that way.

Thanks guys, I'm near the waterfront if that helps.

The weddings at someplace called george's on the cove tomorrow and me and some bay area guys are just looking for a place to toss back a few and watch the Giants..

Think the bar owner would hate on me for asking for the Giants broadcast? lol

Thanks man, I was hoping to stay local

(actually wanted to get some cheapies at petco for their game against the angels just to check out petco but scheduling isn't working out)

I keep the look out

Off topic but San Diego scores major points for korean BBQ burritos and Carne Asada fries, I'm gorging out here :)

I've never had a problem getting Hooters to put on a Giants game. Do some homework to see if it's on local cable though.

Most sports bars with like 20 TVs or more will usually put on a requested game.

Transferring a $5 bill to an appropriate representative of the establishment can go a long way toward providing the proper broadcast.

Besides, it's San Diego - it's not much of a baseball town. Would you go to a local bar in SF to watch the game if the Giants sucked as bad as the Maxis year after year after year from everlasting to everlasting, with no hope in sight?
