This is disappointing imo. The NFL should have donated 5x this amount. I know its not their responsibility however, it will take Billions to rebuild. Given the current climate in CA with insurance issues, no friggin water etc, these people had zero chance to avoid the destruction. Shame on Goodell for donating pennies on the dollar towards this relief effort. Goodells current salary is worth $200M. Perhaps each owner will fork up $2M towards the relief effort raising the total from the NFL to $69M.

It will not let me paste the link. See Bleacher Report.

I’m not sure NFL and Goodall should donate to California. The people of California Se these elected officials who put illegal immigrants and worthless endangered species above heir citizens. This was not a natural disaster like a hurricane that cannot be prevented or tempered. We have this discussion annually about California because wild fires occur every year in California. All they have to do is follow the science of forestry (yes it is a real science) and they would know taking care of the underbrush would make containing these fires much easier.

The people who should be donating is the multi millionaires and billionaires that exploit the rest of the citizenry in California and promote liberal talking points.

Nobody “votes for this.”

Who would vote for the santa ynez reservior being closed for maintenance at a time when the water from there would be extremely helpful for fighting the palisades fire?

Similarly, nobody voted for saving an endangered fish instead of diverting water south.

Its two different issues, so naturally that’s one issue too many for right wing news sources to comment on, and thus their soundbytes get misconstrued by others, like drumpfy.

While efforts to save Delta smelt, along with salmon and steelhead trout, do reduce the amount of water that is moved from northern California by the state at certain times, it has no bearing on the current availability of water for fire-fighting."
Although southern California is currently experiencing a drought, data shows its reservoirs are almost all currently above the historic average for this time of the year. None are at significantly low levels.
However, one large reservoir in Pacific Palisades, the Santa Ynez Reservoir, was closed for maintenance and empty when the fire broke out.”

It absolutely does . You voted for people who cut the fire budget and didn’t test the hydrants . They failed to use even the basics of forestry management. They voted for people who instituted stupid policy

The voters elect the officials. The officials make the policies.

California is known not to follow the forestry concept of getting rid of underbrush. Their reasoning is for endangered species, such as the migrating patterns of some form of mouse.

California is known for neglecting its own citizenry for the special interests of certain groups in environment, immigration, and sexuality.

The vultures are right. Newsom and others have dragged their feet about a lotta shit n just outright lied about shit as well And Cali politicians continue to do stupid shit neglecting their own citizens as they give free health care to everyone regardless of immigration status. Considering all the issues that are bound to take root just from smoke inhalation alone. The next thing to break just might be our healthcare system here in Cali. What;s trippin me out right now though is every major fire whe're had in the last 5-10 years we've always received some type of fall out. Whether it was uip north or down south. One year we had soot literally raining on us. We even felt some after-effects from the fires in Colorado n Arizona a few years back. Parts of the sky turns gray, black and one time a full on amber orange when it rained soot. The air quality shift is noticeable and you can see, smell and feel via breathing the effects of the fires. This year...nothing. 4 major fires that have been burning for days going into weeks now with 0% containment and if not for the media, phone service n internet we might not be aware of it or at least fully awarew and I live 2 to 2 1/2 hours away.

This report is from Sept when no one was thinking about fire.

You're right as well though. Nobody voted for this shit. Perhaps the silver lining in this will be when its all said and done. This will have effectively destroyed any chance Newsom had of becoming or running for president. I gotta ask though, chiller. Had this happened to a red state. Would you be reveling in their misery like so many MAGA folk seem to be reveling now. That imo might be the saddest thing about all this. As long as we're fighting amongst ourselves it allows politicians to continue to do what they do.

Back to Newsom's lying ass. How fucked up is shit when MTG is making sense. Pretty fuckin fucked up, but its more a feelings based piece The first 2 links are current and the third link is from 2021 and a long read, but imo worth it.

It absolutely does not.

First, I live in NY, so I didnt vote for any of the california folks.

Second, you didnt read the article, and instead are relying on talking points.

Third find a source that describes the basics of forest management and how the folks in califronia failed to use it.

There is no question that having some fire hydrants lack water and havi ny one important reservoir empty and closed for maintenance is dubious.

But like everything else in life it isnt as simple as critics tend to make it.

Getting rid of underbrush when creating a fire break is not what drumpfy and his minions are talking about. He literally thinks people go into the forest with rakes and rake up the fucking leaves.

Show a source that suggests that the reason california doesnt get rid of underbrush is because of mice.

The last paragraph is more opinion based nonsense.

the people of california VOTED for the people who IMPLEMENTED the policies that led to this failure . IT has nothing to do with toeing a party line or whatever dumbass name someone has for trump . they could have fixed this in 2014 and it has nothing to do with the tried and true talking points excuse
