Whats up mall, i believe Briere will be gone hopefully we can work out trade but like the article said i dont see that happening. I love the bottom of the article about Bryz, typical of his whole flyer career.

meltz tweeted earlier about him allowing a 5-hole goal that would've been stopped if his stick was on the ice instead of flailing in the air. he would be a top 15 goalie in this league if he made that adjustment, but seeing as how it's been 2+ years that i've been asking for that (never played a second of organized hockey in my life, so it's blatantly obvious) he apparently doesn't have the work ethic to get better, or is too stubborn to try new things. those goals piss me off, even when i'm glad they went in. go usa.

i'm not even sure he's a system goalie.. no team in the league can take away all deflections, and when you're as leaky as bryz is, deflections go in all the time

and if shooters pick the leaky points (5-hole especially) they'll score.

I seriously think this is a smokescreen. I think that they will look at all options before deciding on Bryzy. I just can't imagine why they would bring Bryzy back with the comments he made a week ago.

It has to be a smokescreen. forget about his comments there is no way our team should be paying that much money to a goalie that is not a clear cut starting goaile. thats what you pay goalies that play 70 games in a season and with mason there is no way Bryz gets near 70 games this year.

I know nothing about Read's value but I believe the Kings might trade Bernier and they seem to like trading with the Flyers. The fact that people are talking about this must likely means it will never happen. Just adding to noise

read can play any position in the top 9.. can play on your top PK and contribute 20ish goals.. 900k cap hit next season, UFA next summer

IMO, read is extremely low on the list of guys the flyers should trade.. bang for your buck wise, he's probably the most valuable player on the flyers roster (including giroux who is a mighty steal at 3.75 mil himself).. dealing a guy like read, when you're constantly against the cap, is utter stupidity.. that doesn't mean it won't happen though, this is the flyers we're talking about

had a long post screw up on me last night, but the short version is:

DLeed pissed me off last night. Wanted to try to offer sheet someone and as a backup plan, go after jaybo. Everyone here knows my hate for jaybo so i don't have to get in to that, but i'm even more against offer sheeting than i am against acquiring jaybo. the pronger deal fucked the farm, an offer sheet that gives up 4-5 1st round picks would do even more damage. offer sheets are a TERRIBLE idea. NOt to mention they tie up your entire offseason gameplan for a week while the team matching plays games with you for being a dick.

I honestly don't think Homer will go down that road again. This all backfired on him when the Preds matched. Homer did not have backup plans. Furthermore, as you said, the offersheet could fuck the Flyers long term. I did like the offersheet to Webber however. It was worth the risk. I am in total agreement with this. I was counting my chickens befroe they hatched also in the Weber offer sheet. I just assumed Weber would be playing for us this year and when that fell through nothing was done as a back up.

Morning sirs!!! I feel like 47 at times in which I can't make up my friggin mind on who we should draft, who our next goaltender should be, and who we should pursue via FA? My head is spinning in circles. I kind of go off of for example, Meltzer's opinion and some of your guy's perception on a player. As of this very second, I don't want to trade Read for Bernier because if I was reading some posts here, Smith is a UFA? Doesn't make sense to trade? As for the draft, I really don't care because in recent years, the Flyers have drafted well with their 1st round pick. Any of these guys mentioned should be a safe pick IMO.
