The Toronto Maple Leafs have at least five offers on the table for defenceman, Tomas Kaberle.

At this point, none of the existing proposals is considered strong enough to close on a deal, however, that's not to say the Leafs wouldn't accept one of the offers with some tweaking as the day unfolds.

Sources say the offers range from roster players to draft picks.

Toronto has time on its side as well, as Kaberle's no-trade clause, which lifts on Friday, won't be reapplied until mid-August.

One team familiar with the trade discussions says the Leafs have asked for a first round draft pick, however Leafs management maintains, a first round pick in return for Kaberle is not a priority.

Im surprised its only 5 teams interested ... I was expecting Dave Nonis cousin to say it was 38 teams that are interested in Kaberle

If the Sabres are not one of those five teams, they can go suck on a lemon.

Connolly, Gerbe, top draft pick, top prospect, anything. The Sabres should have a legit offer on the table.

Doubt it, though. I'm sure when the offseason is all said and done and they made two Mike Grier, Steve Montador-like additions they can play the "Northeast Division Champs" card...

Boston & Anaheim are probably two of the 5 teams. Maybe Burke wants Savard to play with Kessel again. Anaheim has lost Pronger & Niedermayer they need help on the blueline in a bad way. They have two 1st round picks so the ammunition for a deal is their. I imagine Burke wants Ryan though. If Murray gives him up he should be fired on the spot.

No way do I move Savard for Kaberle if I'm Boston. But stranger things have happened.
