Eh... 10 walks and 8 strikeouts, he's had a great start, but there are some flags, I'll reserve judgement for the time being
That is fine. You can reserve judgment as long as you feel you should. I am very impressed with him though.

The walks and strikeluts don't bother me because I am looking at all of his stats and his results so far. I don't adhere to the theory that a guy has to strike out a lot of batters to be a successful pitcher and I wouldn't put it past the kid to improve on that number anyway. And as long as his WHIP is barely over one then I don't mind the walks. To me what he has done in his first three starts is very impressive.

The guys that are getting on base aren't scoring. Check his ERA. His numbers are good
That may be true so far, but he will have to allow a lot less baserunners to be successful. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the necessary adjustments very quickly though.

I'm glad it only takes 3 starts for you to be impressed, I also looked at the stats as a whole and there are things to be happy about and concerned about,

My comment was meant only as a tap the brakes moment, I'm sure the K's will go up and the walks down, but there is regression to be expected almost across the board

I took the fact that it was his first three starts into consideration. That is what makes it so impressive. He has had the most successful start to his career of any Ranger starter in the history of the club so yes I find that very impressive. I am not trying to say how good he is going to be in the future, but his start is very impressive. I fully expect he will have ups and downs. All young pitchers do. My comments weren't made to show what I think his future will be. That being said, I do think he has a bright future here if he stays healthy, but I thought that a year ago.

He should be left in the rotation throughout the season.
This club is going to have some tough decisions to make with their starting pitching in just a few weeks barring injury.

Torii received a 2 game suspension, but he has appealed and will be able to play tonight. I hope his suspension starts tomorrow.

Said it before, and I say it again. Can't wait? But honestly, I don't think it's as difficult as some think.

First of all, until we see what we have coming off the DL, there's no reason - in fact the opposite - to make any trade, demotion, etc.

I'd like to see any and all starters who return get a few starts before we worry about making any major move. Plus, I'd like to see us skip a turn on Martinez & Chi-Chi, at the very least. So this gives us some breathing/evaluation room for our returning starters too.

@Evan_P_Grant: Rougned Odor's return may be imminent, which could mean a couple days on the bench for Elvis Andrus: Should the Texas Rangers put Elvis Andrus on the bench for a couple of days? | | Dallas Morning News

I hope we're not rushing him back, and thus stunting his future again. I'd truly hate to see him come up and regress or get overwhelmed again.

But this article sure points out some positive upside to the move, and I can see the benefits....no doubt about it

That's a simple question. The real question is what do we do with him (and his contract) when his replacement is better than him?

Maybe EA becomes the UIF, or certainly trade fodder.

I get the feeling this organization has about had it's fill of one Mr Elvis.

For me, I'm so worn out with looking the part, acting the part, and nowhere near the part, I could scream. Fact is, I've done that already.

I've been sick of him for awhile now. It certainly didn't start this year. He's one of those players that gets paid and regresses. They always piss me off.

I hear ya. And I've admitted before, I really thought when we signed him to that contract, it was a win-win deal.

Have another adult beverage Mr D!

If we get outta of the inning behind 1-0, I'd love it right now.
