I like Wolfe's response to the banner; leave taking down QBs to the D-line.

Like other fans I was pissed to see this. WTF do we want a 60 banner of Joe Fucco in our place for? I hope people drag that thing out into the streets of Denver and burn it after we smash them 34-14.

That's much better, Sparky! Nice fix!

I'll be honest and you can call me a whiner if you want to. I hate that goddamn banner. I think it's a slap in the face and I can't believe that the NFL is subjecting us to this. I know that Baltimore is being forced to go on the road due to the baseball scheduling conflict, but I don't give a rat's ass. It's not our fault nor our problem. The last time I checked, the Ravens are still going to get 8 home games on their schedule. The opener is one of our 8 home games. This is not a neutral site. This is not the Superbowl. This is Broncos Country and the NFL is desecrating our sacred ground at Mile High with this giant banner of an opposing player. Hell, they even plastered them everywhere up and down the 16th Street Mall downtown.
I'm pretty damn sure that the NFL opener last year in the Meadowlands wasn't greeted with a giant banner of Tony Romo flapping in the NYC breeze.

I'm with the rest of you. Players need to use this for motivation. The fans here in Denver didn't need any additional motivation for this game and people are pretty pissed off. Should be a crazy night in 8 days.

Okay.....rant over. Go Broncos!!

Certainly agree with all of that. Seems to me that the league's decision is a wrong headed way to try and compensate the Ravens for having to open on the road. Why should that be done at Denver's expense?

I also found this sentence in the piece linked in the OP kind of curious: "it's the league promoting the matchup in a way that's designed to get fans of both teams interested in the game, as the Broncos explained on Twitter Tuesday."

Any attempt to increase interest in this game is akin to trying to fan the flames of that wild fire out in Yosemite!

Being forced to have that banner makes the broncos look like a joke. Opposing team QB gets a huge banner on our house? I hope we decimate the ravens, not just win, I want to humiliate them.

Anyone else think they overpaid for that banner too? Looks kind of average to me.

All, I',m Sorry, I should have included in earlier reply that the wonderful artwork was not my creativity, rather I obtained it from the Mile High Horsemen facebook group.

Regardless, and no disrespect to Peyton Manning, but the NFL is truly a team sport, I would have been less offended if it were simply the team logos.

Go Broncos !

So the NFL rewarded the Broncos with playing the reigning Super Bowl Champions first game of the year.

Then the NFL hangs the banner of the reigning Super Bowl MVP on Mile High stadium celebrating the Mile High Miracle and your fan-base is taking issue with this? You should be saying thank you it cleans the place up a bit.

I expect to find it much funnier -- in an ironic sense -- in eight days.

If the Broncos need this for motivation then the team has a problem. Last years loss in the playoffs should be all they need.

Oh you mean the Suggs and Dumervil who are going to spend the whole game on their butt and not lay a finger on Peyton? Yeah I can't wait to watch that. I especially cannot wait to watch Ladarius Webb get abused by D. Thomas just jumping over the top of him and Webb acting like he had another injury. Really there are so many things I am looking forward to in this game the most being the Easy Bronco victory.

So you think neither Dumervil will get to Peyton? hmm.. How do you feel your backup center will do against Haloti Ngata now that he is back in his natural position of NT? You think he will get any push at all huh? That's very optimistic of you.

So far as D. Thomas is concerned he is a good wr but had only 37 yds in the playoffs last year against a backup cb. Didn't really kill it if you know what I mean. Certainly wasn't the torching Torrey Smith put on your db's for 98 yds and 2 TD's.

Thankfully we are pretty much down to a week of this crap smack talk by you. Soon enough we will have our answers to all of this. Honestly the guy I expect to destroy the Ravens defense is a guy that didn't even play last year in the Broncos game and no I am not talking about Wes Welker (although I think he will do just fine as well) but a guy named Julius Thomas. Good luck to the Ravens trying to cover him all game.
